If they aren't going to be home I tell them to leave me a check under the mat or taped to the back door. I don't do the check is in the mail game.
I agree Dave... or give me your credit card, we swipe it on our phone.
Just be polite and persistent and hopefully they will they will get tired of you and pay.
I have left thousands of ivoices in the customers mail boxes, people that I have never even met before and their has not been on single time I haven't got paid!

That's the first I've seen a device that allows one to swip a credit card via a cell phone...cool. I would think the HO would be reluctant to do that in fear that you might store his cc number. What has been your experience?
PS - I wonder if I can walk around the mall with that thing swiping credit cards in back pocket wallets?...LOL
That whole roof $500. It was just spot trament, 2/3 front roof, no guarantee. Done with pump ups. Wasnt bringing trailer on this. Weird How I got beat on such a small job.

We prefer... cash or check and if all else fails a credit card... for the most part people don't care they have been programmed to swipe plastic everywhere these days! 95% of our customers pay with checks.

Mike, I gotta say, If you went on my roof with pump up sprayers shot a few spots and then asked me to pay you 500 big ones I think I might tell you where to go. I don't care what size the job is, the trailer goes with me. Have you thought about making a deal with them? Did they think you charged too much for what you did? Did they have some kind of crisis? Somehow, I would get in touch and/or leave them a note. Find out what they can afford to pay? Somehow you can find out what the problem is. Worse case... on to the clerks office to fill out papers!

The whole roof wouldve been 500, this was 2/3 front of roof, $270. When she got home she called and was thrilled, She did answer the phone once a couple of days ago, I guess by accident. Said her boyfriend mailed a check, I havent got it yet. Said she would ask, and confirm that the check was mailed, and call me back later that night. She never did.
Brett my work is very high quality. I insist that no sh gets on the outside of the gutters too. In the second invoice I left them I asked if there were any probs etc. I have been very polite, patient, and the job was priced corectly. No flaws on my part. I didnt bring the trailer because of parking and the job was so small. I couldve paralell parked the trailer maybe, depending on who was parked there that day, or parked blocking some of the street and put some cones out. The pump up was the simplest way to go.
Hey Brett lets see your trailer? I'm currently building my second one, that's going to be finished Thursday.
So why didn't you collect on the completion of the job. You say, I'm done, Pay Up.
This has never happened before? Upon reflection, she said her boyfriend was a contractor, so why did we have to rehang the lil piece of siding, with the roof wash? How come her boyfriend didnt do it and why has his phone been turned off? I have both cell phone #'s on the contract. Popping that siding in for free sold the job, and she said she wants the house washed next. Can't move forward with her till I get paid, lol!!! She just owes 200???
