Anyone have a roof shampoo company in your area ? I have one here. He ran an add in the local paper this week. I looked at the site he had listed and it was the roof shampoo company site. Anyone seen it lately ? Take a look at it. It really knocks the way we clean roofs. We need our site to be better than this one, we have to really tell the people about why we have the better way. They really knock the bleach wash, pushing their chems that do not need watering of plants. Course, they do not mention any use of a pressure washer. Sounds like on their site, they only use a hose hooked up to the house.
I had a go with one of them from an ebay posting, can't even remember what State he was in. Said he had talked to Chris Tucker before etc., etc.
I wouldn't let them bother you. Just stay focused on your process. Once you respond to their pitch then you will become reactive, when you need to stay proactive.
If someone asked me about them, I'd respond something like " yes I have heard of them, aren't they the service that has been tearing up homeowners roofs with some type of machine they use on the roof?" LOL

Yes. They use a pressure washer & Flat Surface [cement surface] cleaner on roofs.
Probably not terribly harmful on tile [ just dangerous] but would really knock years off the life of a shingled roof.
I talked back and forth some with the guy and he claims it's his "Shampoo Chem" that does the cleaning and the machine just mildly works with it. I've pressure washed all but roofs since 1978 and currently own 2 flat surface cleaners and they don't function mildly. It takes high pressure to make them function.
He's just another guy pressure cleaning roofs is all.

They're here in my area too. The few times that I know I've competed with them, I've beat them. They tend to charge a LOT since their process is very labor intensive. When you compete with them, even at a substantial premium, your quote will likley be a bargain by comparisons.
Join Angie's list if you have not done so. Read their reviews in your area (presuming they're members) and look at the prices that they charge. There is great intel there for you.
Lastly, you can use the ARMA doc and the GAF-Elk docs to take them out of the equation but you must be careful with those documents, as the 'solution' is printed on them.
I'd rather talk than type it all out - feel free to give me a call if you'd like and I'll go in to more detail.
Check out my website and there is a video showing what they do to roofs, I can send you the video to upload or make a ton of cds and pass them to the HO, HA! they will shoot em if they get on their property after watching that. You might also want to alert a local news watchdog, or consumer reports reporter. Let the news do their job, I do not care what anyone says The video speaks VOLUMES and if I ever run into one of them guys I WILL Bitch slap them for ripping people off!!! It totally BLOWS my mind they are still able to do what they do !! Are people really that stupid??? Gezze.. Get a stack of roofing company business cards to go with my RSampoo Cd and tell em if after you see the video and still use them here is your local roofer to replace it when they are done, cause they will be replacing it!
Thanks Kim, I have a video of what they do,, "borrowed it" from a website of theirs. Made me laugh that they would do something like that. I did get 2 jobs last simmer that I Bid against this guy. The homeowner asked about my process, and then told me he had a quote from a company that was going to use some kind of machine on his roof. He did not like that idea.
