LOT'S of beginners in the roof cleaning business Aaron costing everyone money, and themselves too!
They forget there is often a 2 or 3 car garage that has roof on it. They figure incorrectly that it is 3200 sq ft times 10 cents a sq ft ='s 325.00 dollars,  the freaking idiots!
Plus, roofs in the Tampa Bay area are FILTHY from 2 years plus of rainy vs dry winters, and HOA's have just started sending letters out recently. The  HOA's felt sorry for people for a couple of years, and were lenient on roof cleaning letters.
Plus, the beginners don't realize you MUST make your money in the season, to survive the summers!
I would ask 425.00 for that roof, and come down to 375.00, depending on how busy we were.

Seriously though, these guys are killing everything we've worked sooooo hard to try to maintain. Even at my bare min lowest price on a shingle I would have been @ just around the $400.00 range. At my highest I would have just nicked the $500.00 mark.

I work a whole lot less these days and make double and tripple what I used to make 4-5yrs ago. I got tired of bustin my arse and barely getting by. I'm more than willing to work with people a little but not if it's gonna put me in the poor house. NO WAY!!!!

I always leave a potential customer with "make sure whoever you hire provides references,insurance and are RCIA members."

Good Job buddy, you can always come down, a little, but you can never go up!

Aaron, congrats! I don't come down on my price, ever. As my father in law says, we aren't a flea market!

Good job sticking to your guns and obviously, the homeowner knew who the better choice was. I've gotta get some presentation folders made like you did, haha.

It appears to me that you are not going anywhere anytime soon so we should probably get together and do lunch one of these days. I actually get a lot of calls for painting on exteriors and tile roofs. I'm sure we could be an asset to each other.

I'll have to take you up on that 1 of these days. Right now I am completely booked for estimating (3-5 per day painting & roof cleaning) so my wife usually packs me a lunch that I eat on the road......Maybe I should slow down a little??? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

You and I have a bit in common. I'm pretty addicted to work as well although I normally leave myself a day or 2 to recover during the week. Right now ( with a few days off) we are doing 2-3 jobs per day with the exception of this Monday. 4 Jobs. Gonna be a long one. The next customer that gives me the go ahead will be scheduled for March 30th. I love when it gets busy like this but it will wear ya down quick having to wear so many hats.

Dont be in shock. The world is round and if you are professional and position your company right in your space you will be rewarded.
