Building Ladder Rack
Permalink

Anyboday ever built their own ladder rack?

I am going to build one on a 6ft by 12ft trailer out of 1 1/2" by 1 1/2" square tubing.

Just not sure what thickness of tubing should by used. Dont want to make it heavy but not to light either.

Thanks, Owen

I Use 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x .125 wall for most things
I fabricate. This will work well for your Application.

Chris is right. 1/8" will work perfectly. I had a rack built on my trailer rig and it was built out of 1 1/2" square tubing. The rack was stacked with ladders and had hose reels hanging from it. Never had a problem.
