Ive got a 12volt flo jet that I am putting in my truck and I don't know a lot about them.

I really don't have the space to put it in a battery box. If it sets in the open and gets rained on will that kill it?

I'd think a premium member who has cleaned 100's of roofs and been a member of this site since 09 would be educated enough to know the answer to such a question. Well with my experience I would  cover it up, or at least spray some type silocone on it. to keep the wires from turning black and not getting a good connection, The screws will start to rust on the head, if you may want to repair yourself some day. Why aren't all the paying members in the the premium section . "just a question" don't need any negetive feed back from the payers.

Chris....The Penta series is marine grade meaning it's completely water proof. It would run if it was submerged.

Bob before iwent to a fat boy i had  a flo jet and it didn't do so well over time in the elements. He's going to have to at least spray some silicone on the connections and pressure switch. Maybe I just got a bad one that couldn't hold up to the elements??

I just built a cover that went over it, like a cake lid, but not of course, cut some spots where the hoses went to the pump and it fits right over the top. kinda cheezy looking last yr but going to build a nice one this yr. its the white box in the picture.

Ive used a delevan 5850, 1/2 yamada, 3/8 all flo and a flo jet air pump(<<very reliable ;) Bob)

We are pretty tight on space on the truck so I decided to go with a 12volt pump.

I actually planned to put it in a box but it was going to partially block the air intake on one of my washers. Thats not something I want to mess with.

Chris, the one in the pic that I posted is actually a 5850. I only use it for transfering chems but it has been there 2 yrs and get a lot of use. Also, even though it does get wet when we are working or if we get caught in the rain, my rig is stored away in my shop at night. It's not exposed to the elements all the time.

All my pumps including my high pressure lines get a run of at least 5 gals of water run through them at the end of everyday. I got tired of buying new pumps, hoses and fitting all the time. Rinsing them all out only takes a few minutes and seems to be working. Heck I even run fresh water (sucking up) through my DS'ers now. Got really sick of repairing and replacing them.
