Hey guys, can someone share some info about the school & certification given by delux?
Is this a RCIA certification, or just "Approved By RCIA"?

Hey guys, can someone share some info about the school & certification given by delux?
Is this a RCIA certification, or just "Approved By RCIA"?
The RCIA developed and ratified The 50 Point Standard on Jan 17th 2011. The certification committee has taken up the task of creating a certification test based on those 50 points. Delux has paid the RCIA for the right to use the 50 Point Standard as well as the certification test as "PART" of the SoftWash Systems TM classes.
Delux is not the only path to certification, just an aid or tool for those who wish to take advantage of it.
I have to go back to work.....actually I am on a "time out" from the BB
From what I understand ,and I think I am pretty much on the money for this. ( Feel Free to correct me if I am wrong, Chris Madden)
RCIA certification is nearly going to be complete for ALL members very soon, the cert committe has been pushing really hard to get it done for everyone.
Second this class offered by Delux is the "jumpstart" for any RCIA guests or premiums to get certified IF they choose this route.
NOW I do Believe that anyone that wants to be certified will have the same opportunity at the same time, as the CERT test will be ready to be put to use by everyone just in different formats for all.
This is only ONE avenue, Delux, I would be expecting that who ever doesn't choose Delux will be offered alternates here at RCIA.
Where those alternates are at yet, not sure BUT the Cert committee is working hard to put this out for everyone at the same time on this for everyone.
So the Delux classes will not be the only choices in April. If it will be ready for Delux, then it should have all the makings for the balance, right?
Am I right Cert committee? Let us know, Kim R
Thanks for all your HARD work on this Guys!!!
AC, back to your corner, LOL... But in all seriousness, this Delux class offered is MORE than the CERTS and becoming certified, it is other classes in there as well, read the syllabus for the list of classes.

Yes Kim, All qualified RCIA members will have the opportunity to take the cert. test right here at RCIA. We have stated all along that we would "lease" the test to other providers for a fee, and that is what we are doing with Delux. Please also note the date of their class and the cert. test. Rcia's cert committee will have it available to RCIA members in the same time frame, so the decision will be your to make where you want to be trained. Also please note theat Delux's class is over 4 days of other training, not just certification, hence the large fee. Gary
HHHmmmm........ I'm on the certification committee, and been to every board meeting we had over the past few weeks. There has been no official discussion on the RCIA leasing the test or the 50point to Deluxe. BILL has mentioned it to the committe, and we are now being rushed to complete this process to satisfy Deluxe. I to am confused
We need to get this thing cleared up. I do NOT want to rush this RCIA certification. I want this thing to be beneficial to the Membership. The Certification Committee need to step back and take a breather here.

As a member of the Certification Committee I was shocked and appalled to see the post about the All New Delux Certification Class being offered. Yes, as Chris stated, there was some minor discussion and some pushing for us to get our cert. stuff done by April 1 before Delux does their own thing. After the committee decided to make it affordable to all and that NO ONE would make any money (only RCIA) in this cert. process, in less than one week the post shows up for the 2000.00 course. Other than Delux, what members of RCIA bennifit? Come on, think real hard! Now, am I the only one who is smelling something here like what you see hitting the fan in Teds wordless post?
I think the committee is being used! Next time offer a jar of vaseline!
Not trying to "Throw Fuel On The Fire" mind you. But this seems to be a slap in the face of every RCIA Paid Member here.
Delux gets to use the (Or Rent) 50 point standard (Marketing) and give the Certification Course before it's even offered to the Paid Membership??? And The Board Of Directors Are OK With This???
Why can't the RCIA offer all of what Delux is offering as a "Stand Alone" Org. and reap ALL the profits for the RCIA and it's Membership, instead of accepting a small fraction from Delux for rent???
Seems To Be A Large Conflict Of Interest Here Folks. Just Saying.

I guess the only real question I have is, are the people who go to Delux( and I got no dog in that hunt) Premium members? My understanding is that certified testees(HuhHuh I said "testees") must be Premium Members to hold the title of Certified. Don't jump on me for asking. I won't be applying for cert until I have a lot of experience behind me. Just wondering.

I must say I agree. Thought we have the certification committee putting things together using the 50 points standards. Why are we giving our work to Deluxe which is a supply company for power washing. The only affiliation to roof cleaning that I can see is our RCIA BOD members. Thought we were on a building path? Why not let the certification committee finish, in the near future, and start certifying our members for a lot less cost and expense?
Would someone kindly explain what is going on here?
I guess I misunderstood the entire thing. Instead of forking over my $100 and hoping to get certified I should have been saving $$ to pay Deluxe? This is the first I've heard about "leasing" out our cert to outsiders as well and I DO tend to show up for the Ted & Gary show. If the cert comes through anyone besides RCIA I will not be persuing it because it will have been cheapened. The gold medal at the Olympics has meaning because you can only win it AT the Olympics, but this cert will be a joke. I mean ZERO disrespect to those who are working hard on the cert. committee. It's definitely not y'all, its the way this entire fiasco has been handled. The debacle that resulted in the 50 point standard was bad enough, but this takes the cake. I for one, am damm disappointed in the way things are going and if they continue in the same direction I'm not going to renew my membership as well as not persue certification. I hope things straighten out, but I'm doubtful.
I know you guys are well intended and work hard, but this just isn't coming across very well. I mean really, don't you think you're gonna raise some eye brows with the conflict of interest? At least present the other options for certification before leaking this. It just seems a bit sloppy, sorry to be critical but it's just my opinion, and I'm obviously not alone.
