That is Correct. You will have to earn your certification under the new policies before you are allowed to display as such. Gary
This is the policy Chuck. Several were "grandfathered in", including yourself before the policys were changed. Heck, it is only 100 bucks a year, WTF ? I know I personally have sent you well over that amount in work last year. This forum costs money to have, and the 100 dollars allows you into the premium section, and to advertise in the certified directory. That alone is worth the 100 dollars. My dad was NIASE Certified as a mechanic in the old days, before it became the ASE. Once it became the ASE, he had to pay a little, but it brought in so much extra business!
I did not pay to become certified and have no prob waiting until it's time....I payed because all the great info i learned which I knew was well worth 100 dollars the first couple days i was reading and learning. I was wondering in my head why it was not already a paid forum the first time I found the love which changed the way I clean Roofs Now. I like everything that is happening with the RCIA now and standards are what an industry needs to be above the rest.
Ya'll guys read alittle and all the cert answers are there a thousand times. Patience Ya'll.......it's happening....just chiiiillllllllllll....Pay the 100 and get over it I felt better after I did
I agree that it is a great site to learn and the 100.00 is nothing but I do want to put it on my site and be certified. I'm not one to fight or get into it about others opinions but I will help people and I think that I already did even at the round table in VA. I just want to know how I can get it now before I get to busy and will stay on top of it.

"I just want to know how I can get it now before I get to busy." Good Question Brian!
I didn't pay in the beginning, because I didn't know if RCIA would amount to anything down the road or not. Then later, I asked about why "Certified" was not under my name and I got no answer. I even emailed the question to you personally, but didn't get a reply. In the last few years the economy [work] in my area has been especially bad. I do not live in a big city. In a big city, there is always work. Still, if I had known there came to be a charge involved and not just voluntary contributions, as you had said when I joined, I would have paid. When it all started and you personally called me a certified me, nothing was said, that if I didn't pay, I wouldn't be recognized as certified. I am ready to pay now, if I will immediately have "Certified Roof Cleaner" under my name? I see another member in this thread, said he paid and still does not have certified under his name? Let me know and I will pay immediately! { Can it be done by credit card? } Thanks and thanks for the jobs you sent my way to bid, I did get one of them in Ft Myers for $300.00 But that's really way out of my work range distance. I work Englewood, Rotonda, Venice, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Venice, Nokomis, Cape Haze, Placida, Grove City, Boca Grande and Osprey only. Just a bunch of small towns, basically. Occasionally, I go up to Southern Sarasota. But I try not to travel further than 30 miles ever.

I "Earned" it the 1st time, under the existing policies at the time and Chris T himself certified me according to the certification rules in existance at that time. This could be an endless "New Policy" requirement. If it happened once, what's to stop it from becoming an ongoing "You have to pay again to be certified under policy change number 7?

I see, but of course, just because it says that, does not make it right. Anyway, if there is a charge to give me what I earned way back in the beginning, I will pay it. I have no problem paying anyway, I have a problem with it having become a requirement, when it was not a requirement when I was certified. You probably were not even a member way back then???

Chuck; Below is text copied from a post prior to 11-1-10. Hope this explains your question.
Starting on 11/01/2010, there will be several new changes in titles on RCIA. If a person has paid the membership dues, they will carry the title of "MEMBER" and if currently certified they will carry the title of "CERTIFIED MEMBER'. Any person currently registered on RCIA, who has not paid the membership dues will carry the title of "GUEST" until such time as the membership fees are paid. A certified guest will not have the certification attached to their title until the fees are paid and their title changed. You will be carried on the official books as being certified, but RCIA will only advertise this title for paid members. Additional titles may be added as the new certification guidlines and requirements are completed and put into effect by RCIA officials.
The entire post is under certification on the home page. Gary

What is the 50 point thing all about? I assume something to eliminate the little guy and promote the big businesses????

Well, since I and a few others got caught up in the transition, no matter what we did before was no good and now there is nothing going on with the certification because the 50 pt. standard was more important.
The deal is this, the best I can explain and I'm sure it is here somewhere.
If you were certified before, you can still carry The title on all your stuff but if you didn't join the premium member side of the forum, you will always come up as guest. Once you join as a premium member, you get the title. Now I'm sure someone who knows the rules better will expand on this.

I agree with you Chuck,..your status should have remained as it was. You also contributed information from the time you joined. That alone should account for something.
I have a nervous condition and I have tried cutting back on my meds in the last week. Trouble is, when I take them, it's hard to work, because they make me lethargic. Without enough meds, ~I~ get~ like~ this!~ My buttons don't need to be pushed, they go into rapid fire mode! It certainly helps to have you and some others understand my thinking on this though!
Well, I better pop a xanax and get back to work! Thanks again!

Chuck Don't want to start a pizzing contest on here, but I'm not going to stand by and listen to all the false statements you are making regarding this whole thing. All this has transpired over the months since 11-01-10. Why you had no interest in any of it up until now is a personal decision you made. But please don't come on here and act like thiis is some kind of well guarded secret or conspirancy. Details of all the info you are looking for are in various posts within the forum. Please search them out and you will find everything well documented and explained. If you so choose to become a premium member, yes it can be handled by credit card and the title will be immediate. Whoever you are referring to that has not received a title change, please furnish his name and that will also be processed. Granted, I have been out of the loop somewhat for over a month due to having both knees totally replaced, but I know of no one that is waiting for any thing from me. RCIA is always looking for talented people that want to help further the cause and direction that has been chosen for RCIA to become a true leader in the roof cleaning industry. Please come join us. Gary
I will look for where on the site payments are accepted right away.
As to"I'm not going to stand by and listen to all the false statements you are making regarding this whole thing." I don't believe I stated anything as a fact that was false? I may have asked about some things, that was speculation on my part? Please let me know what it was I said that was false, so I can correct myself, if I did this. I will go pay now and check for my "Certified" change. Thank You and sorry about you knees. Health problems are tough , I know. Chuck garyw wrote:

OK! I paid the required payment through Paypal. It said "Donation" ? I thought it was a charge that was required? That's not what a donation is? I don't care though. I just want my business name to say "CERTIFIED ROOF CLEANER" and I will be OK with it all. I'm ready to move on. In fact, I have some pictures of some of my equipment setup ideas, that I want to share later.

Chuck; Wish you would have asked how to pay before doing what you did. You just made a donation to keep the forum running, not to become a member. I can get Chris to refund that payment.
Your info needs to be sent to me in a PM for membership. I need; Name Address Tele # email address shirt size company name
I also need your credit card info (Visa--M/C only) expiration date.
Your credit info will be destroyed after billing. Once received I will change your title and furnish you the password for the premium forum. Thanks for your understanding and welcome aboard. Gary
