Roof Cleaning with a milder cleaning system here in Englewood, Fl

Hello everyone. I know I don't show up here often and I apologize for that. Even after being in this "Soft Wash" roof cleaning business since the early 1990's I came here and learned SO MUCH!
My current story is this:
I started out with 1.8 gpm Sureflo Pumps many years ago and 3/8" ID hoses.
It was slow and those pumps didn't last long [probably because of the 3/8" hoses!]
Anyway, after coming here, I worked my way up to 3/4" hoses and 5 gpm Delavan pumps. I did a lot of work with those! I still have that complete setup on the ready. However, I have cut back to 2 gpm Delavan pumps and 1/2" ID hoses. Not quite as fast, but much less danger of runoff harming plants.
I felt that I really wanted something in between 2gpm and 5gpm, so I hooked up two 2gpm pumps and they will run smoothly through the 1/2" 250' hoses.
My son and I did some careful testing and the end result is more like just over 3gpm with two 2gpm pumps. JUST RIGHT!
I tried running one of my 5gpm pumps through that 1/2" hose, but it cycles on and off. So, I guess i'll have to use it just with 3/4" or 5/8" hose.
Just thought I would throw this out here for ya.
I may not be the only one who does not care for all the wasted cleaning solution running off into the gutters or onto my tarps etc. With what Chlorine costs, I hated watching it run down those tile roofs like Niagara Falls! no
I feel more secure now.smile
Thanks to Chris at Apple and all of the other knowledgeable folks I have shared information with through the years!
I will be back around, from time to time.

Thank You Chuck.
This is good info for those that are looking to
build a new setup, or replace their existing one.
Now this is the info the RCIA is all about.

I swear by my 2gpm. I have always pushed this. Here at the RCIA. I dont see a need for more than that.

We use the Delavan 3gpm pumps with 1/2" hose and they work the best. I just built a second spray system for my commercial contracts and they are working great. If anyone has any questions about stepping down to smaller pumps just contact me.

I guess I need to hang around here more often!

Last thing I knew, Delavan had 2gpm then 5gpm then 7gpm pumps!

I didn't know they sold a 3gpm with enough psi to do roofs?

How long has that been available?

THANKS!

Chuck

Thanks Dwayne!
I'm 62 now and with the health issues I have dealt with the last few years, I have cut back to a 3 day work week as of April 2010
I don't think I'm going to move away from the simplicity of 12 volt pump systems now.
I know a lot of you use the All Flow system and love 'em!
biggrin
