My newbie rig

Ok guys this is my rig. Still have some things to do for upgrades. Paint job done by a friend, painted with amron, this paint is what they paint cement trucks and airplanes, was told this paint can stand up too acid washes, time will tell. Tank is 50 gal. from tank depot . Running 5850 delavan 5/8 kuri tec hose, dont like the hose reels, thats why my hose is just rooled up. Back hose reel is for water hose only. Yes i know it will rust. Theres a fan in the pump box $10 radio shak. The tool box wouldn't fit inside trailer, actualy works out pretty good. She pulls like a dream. A little hairy when backing up. So go ahead and slam her.

No one's here to slam you,.give advice maybe. Hypo is harsh,..and will eventually get to the metal. Acid washing isn't that harsh compared to 12.5% or even 6% hypo spilling and slashing and dripping.

I paint stuff to though,..so I'm not saying you made a bad choice. Preventing leaks instead of fixing them, and using nice big funnels when needed,..and rinse immediately with clean water anytime it spills or splashes.

You'll want a hose reel eventually,..hose takes up alot of space and ends up being a pain to uncoil and coil on a regular basis.

That rig will get the ball rolling for you though, and you will figure things out as you go. Like the ladder rack by the way.

Maybe I'm missing it,..but do you have a tee in your feed line somewhere that you are able to rinse the pump and hose with clean water after each job? You need one if you don't already have it in place.

Ok,,another thing to consider is your plumbing. From here I can't tell if it's installed rigidly or not,...but if it's tight anywhere,..like where it goes into the tank, or the battery box,...you may want to either give it some space by making bigger holes where the pipe goes in,..or adding some hose at the stress points to give it some shock absorption. The PVC will crack at the threads eventually if it does'nt have some give.

Short trailers are the hardest to back up. When I started driving trucks a guy told me "you can't back up too slowly" and I found out that was great advice for more than one reason.

Yes i can rinse the pump by putting the nozzel in the tank and shutting off the suction from the tank. there is a seperate suction line that i put in a bucket and run water through her. I usualy clean the tank when i get home. She is only 2 weeks old, I don't have jobs lined up .

Skeeter,

It looks like you did your homework. I would watch backing up with that truck tool box on the tongue. If you cut a corner sharp, that tool box may hit your tow vehicle. Signs on the trailer would also look great. Good luck to you, sir.

Thanks Jeff, the ladder rack is low and i do see the problem , eventually i plan on moving the equipment in the bed of a truck. My 2007 silverado  doesn't deserve to be bathed in sh. I just don't want to mess up my truck. Thanks a million for your input.

Hey Reggie,

Looks good, and functional.
I would either loose the rear ramp or cut it down
no higher then the side rails. They are a huge sail,
and your MPG will increase after you loose it.
I took a 16' empty trailer from SC to PA with a gate
on and got 8 MPG. coming back I had a car on the
trailer with the gate off and placed under the car I had loaded.
With a loaded trailer coming back to SC I got 15MPG.
Big difference!!!
I also see you have that huge "approx" 3'x5'?? area
between your ladder rack and your rail on the trailer.
This is prime real estate for a big company sign. There are
many ways to do this. I would mount some plate steel
thick enough not to "flap" in the wind but not 1/4" either.
Then go to a company that does vehicle wraps, and have
a really professional looking 3'x5' sign made and installed.
This will be a rolling billboard, and your ROI on it will be
well worth it.

Chris

Thanks guys, I have taken all info into consideration. Pulled down new logo going to rework it. The reason for the lines and dark color was a picture i downloaded to windows paint, I just threw it out there for some feedback. Nothing was in stone. I do appreciate all info. Thanks a million.

Hey Jeff,

Can you elaborate on this at all? Man, your advice is like gold in here! Currently, I try to mix my tank with just the right amount so I run out after a job and then I fix the tank with water to rinse the pump. It's a PITA!
