Didn't think anybody was still using the xjet Downsteaming is the way to go. Spend some time on the pressuretek board to see how this works compared to xjetting

I do not think it is a good idea to walk around with pales of chem and filling them up on a lawn! And you will have problems with downstreaming a lot of hose and more than 5-6 gal. a minute machines. Not trying to fight just that I have done them all. For doing a couple jobs a week with 200 ft. of hose downstreaming is good.

My specialty is cleaning roofs. been doing it a long time, met quite a few exterior cleaners along the way. One old timer here in Tampa had one of these Bean R10 Pump he used for softwashing.
He ran the softwashing chemicals right through this pump. No downstreaming or X Jets needed. It is 500 PSI at 10gpm, and built like a tank. They ain't cheap!

Take the proportioner out and throw it away! I've never used one. A friend came down last year and we shared our knowledge. his proportioner would clog sometimes the smallest piece of dirt. I only had the original then, he had the M5. Seeing how the fan tip spread the soap so much quicker (without having to screw the fan tip on and off) I had to get the newer xjet, and yes it does loose 5 feet in height of spray, so their is a use for both.

Take out the proportioner and adjust you mix.

Mike, I was hoping to run the chemicles at a higher strength so I would only need 5 gallons of solution.

Geeze do I post right away, should I wait??? LOL!!!confuse

Last thing I wanna do Is get my post count up??? LOL!!!

Just like the discussion, what is better the xjet or downstreaming. There are variances, and preferences in both as well.

With a proportioner, you use less soap vs. water, you can make your batch stronger because you are pulling less. Personal preference bro. I'm just sharing how I do it and why. Just like everyone else.

Mike, I never used the proportioners before either, it was just a thought.  I hate stopping to make more soap.  I'm going to look more into downstreaming.  That's what I used when I first started out.

I'm gonna get the suds sucker too, I get the catalog every year and scratch my head. I honestly will try it and stop knocking it. For me I see it possable to double up the soap in the 5 gallon, less water. And choose a proportioner. I've still got both bags. Carying around chems that strong, almost 100% 12%.

I promise to play with both this year.

Right now Ive got a 5 and an 8 gpm machine. We can soap with both but generally we soap with the 5 and rinse with the 8.

Jeff LeCours used to downstream roofs, and used a very small 2 gpm machine.
He says the smaller the machine, the better roof cleaning chemical concentration when downstreaming! He purposely got a really small GPM pressure washer just to downstream. I guess bigger is only better when it come to our EX Girlfriends, not for downstreaming cleaning chemicals LOL

We did a Pressure Cleaning job one day last week for the Saint Petersburg Housing Authority here in Pinellas County Florida. It was a small 2 story Multi unit Apartment complex with a total of 20 units. We cleaned the entire exterior of the buildings, stairwells, concrete walkways, pool deck area and furniture, vinyl partitions between their back patios and a small shed. The entire job was done by Soft washing using a down streaming method and we were able to complete it in 5hrs with 4 people. The only thing we did use high pressure on was the concrete which was done with surface cleaners and rinsing. The entire job only took just under 30 gallons of mix.

I don't own an X Jet and don't plan on owning one. We have always used DS'ing as our main source of cleaning. I we had been using an X Jet I'm positive that this job would have taken us at least 7-8 hrs and we would have gone through double if not more in materials.
