Anybody use it? It is an app for your desktop that you can open and drop all of your files into and then access the from any other device and from anywhere in the world. Basically its an online server.

I dowloaded the app onto all 3 office computers, my ipads, and my Droid. Theres no updating, or backing anything up. You just open the icon, drag files in, and in about 60 seconds theyre available anywhere else you have dropbox downloaded or can log into the website.

Pretty cool.

If you put any financial info there make sure it is encrypted. If it is not encrypted, Only use for stuff you would post on the net for anyone to see.

my 2 cents


EDIT:

They use 256 AES encryption. This is a good thing.
When you send data over the Internet, it jumps through
many servers including Cach servers. Your data sits on these
servers for a period of time. If the data is not encrypted,
it can be accessible to many prying eyes. This includes
your EMAIL  eyepopping.gif     unless you use encryption.

I used Dropbox as a quick way for me and my web guy to transfer files and data to one another for my new site. It is real simple to use. My web guy set it up, so I'm not familiar with the diffuculty in the set up, but it's definately useful.

Scott we should link ours that way you could drop me some of that great info you got from AC!!!

wow that's a great concept, definitely useful for anyone with multiple computers in multiple places. nothin worse then needing info or a document and realizing its on the other computer.

I know my daughter uses it for college cause the little icon is on my laptop, didnt know what it was for until you said something Scott. excellent little tool, make since that she has it causes she is on so many systems 138394,
