I have a funny Story about bailing my head salemens out of Jail. Yes they arrested him for knocking on doors.

Personally I do not want anyone knocking on my door, missionarys are allowed to. Frankly they often wake me on days leaving the material on the door.

I work Mon - Fri and often just Mon - thurs, I hate working weekends and I feel sorry for you residential guys. I'm enjoying family and doing stuff around the house.

We dont work Sat or Sun except on special circumstances where it makes or breaks the deal. In 3 1/2 years we've worked on a weekend maybe 3 times.

My guys know not to knock on doors, we do a lot of door hangers, with discount coupons on them and for the most part people like that but a few are just hateful and rude so we just walk on. I do not like people knocking on my door either so that is why we choose not to do the same.

You will find people home, and the amount of no's you get should stay about the same. You may meet some bothered Christians, but many seem to take pity that you have to work on Sunday. Personally, I think you should try to take at least that one day off for your own health, but when times are tough the tough get working.....

I cherish my time off. 5 days a week is plenty.

Scott, its coming from experience.  Most customers in more affluent look down on someone who would interrupt them on a Sunday.  Monday thru Saturday and you will not waste your time.  Every body needs one day of rest.  Lifes too short!  Even AC takes a day off on Sunday...  lol

There are a lot more people home on Saturday rather than Sunday. Hitting doors can be tricky business and requires a lot of positive attitude management.

you guys are missing the whole point, I never said anything about knocking on a door.

whats wrong with riding your bike or taking a walk and seeing the homeowner out side doing yard work and complimenting him on how nice his yard looks ????

Im not big on knocking doors anyways. I used to sell office supplies door to door for businesses. I used to hit 50-100 doors a day to sell maybe $500 worth of supplies on a good day. And thats selling something that they are using EVERY day of every week of every year. AND we were quite a bit less expensive than the competition.

Door to Door might be good at drumming business up, but will probably be the least effective. If you got nothing else to do, then its better than nothing

Saturdays are our best days to work people are home and you can talk to the neighbors. We work Sundays from April till July then take Sundays off. We do not knock on doors and would not on a Sunday. But people are all over us to give them a estimate as we are working. We do not start until after 9:00 am.

I would not consider approching someone's home on Sunday to make a sell unless invited.
If there was a day That I was going to kick back after church and watch a nascar race or take a nap it would be Sunday.
Remember other people need a break from there work life also. This may be the only day they have to relax.

Andy I couldn't agree with you more about knocking on a persons door on a Sunday, but If I were to see someone out in there yard I would probably approach them.

I hate knocking on doors period, but we gotta do what we gotta do. I hate when I knock on a door and there dog freaks out.

I get a lot of work knocking on doors especially if I'm cleaning next door.

I am guilty of working Sundays after church shame on me, but In Jersey the work is seasonal.

I make a lot of money on weekends that is when people are home and out, there are alot ot times I will do three to five houses in a row. to answer your question they don't care.

Probably Ed, lol. I don't remember, I only remember what I want to remember!

Honestly I usually only work Sundays during the Spring. It's wrong of me I know.

It's hard not to its like king crab fishing.
