I just got this email from a freind of mine from England. Check it out, he has a LOT of great tips for us! Maybe contact him, and get on his email list, it might help you ?
Hi Chris,
One of the most common difficulties that online business owners face is choosing the right keywords for their web site. Just what are the keywords that will get your web site noticed? What words do your customers use to describe your products and services? If you know the answers to these questions, you can promote your web site so much better - not only via search engines, but importantly via word of mouth.
However, few businesses put enough attention into keyword research - or the use of keywords that have been investigated. Indeed, some business owners I have met spend ages looking for keywords then hardly ever using them in their web site. They may as well not have bothered with all that keyword analysis.
Even worse, though, are the companies who do no keyword research - who "hope" that people will find out about their business.
Having said this, some people tell me they find all the advice about keywords rather confusing.
Luckily I have been given a document from the good folks at WordTracker which explains keyword research by using a worked example. They have said I can let you have a copy of that document.
Download it from the link below - if the attachment didn't make it through the ether...!
Hey Chris.. Very true, lately aside from a lot of keyword research we have been pursuing long tail keywords - not only have they been easier to rank for but they tend to convert much much better.
