Have any of the Northern guys tried offering Residential Snow Removal in the off season? I used to live where it snowed every winter and remember how much of a BITA it was to shovel snow. Anyone thoughts here???
I have a 4wd ATV with a snow plow That I use to clear driveways and parking lots. Last year we had a 3"-4" snow 4 different times with 1.5 weeks. People got tired of seeing me.LOL Made some prety good money and had fun doing it.
yes we do snow removal, have for the last 5 yrs, although we dont get a lot we do have a few little townships we handle pluse a few of the theatre's in Branson

I made a lot of money last year shoveling snow off roofs during the blizzards we had. There were porches collapsing everywhere. Did a few commercial jobs too, as per engineer specs the trusses can only hold so much weight and stores with flat roofs are required to have their roof calculated now in certain townships after 12"of snow or more.. Hop on that!

I clear a few residential driveways, but focus most of my time on shopping center parking lots. The residential driveways can be difficult to clear with a truck and plow. I much rather push at a shopping center or HOA for 8-10 hrs at a time than running around house to house.
I did get several calls for roof top snow removal as well. The one call was from a PM of a local shopping center we service. At that point I had been pushing snow for 22 hrs straight and decided to turn down the job. This year I will be going after this type of work if we get hit with another heavy snow.
anybody wanna shed some light on how i can get into snow removal? roofs, drives, etc. not really looking to plow much but would be interested in the rooftop removal and anything else i'm equipped to do. any info will be appreciated. never done much commercial work. mostly interested in "who to talk to" for commercial work. i'm assuming door knocking is the best way to go residential. also, i saw a while back where someone mentioned de-icing. anybody ever looked into that? thanks
