Is anyone familar with "thegrimescene.com". It seems they have a nice blend of public/private access to the site, with their DYI section, Contractor leads, etc.
It this a model we could possibly use to helkp restructure the RCIA?

Yes it is, but the software platform RCIA is set up on doesn't support it. We are looking into changing, but ita about a $6K investment. Need more paid members! Gary
I agree Chris, although I also understand your frustration with it all Gary. Let's collaboratively try and put together a strong thread that will sell non members on the benefits. We need it to be well articulated, factual with strong bullet points as to member benefits, the VALUE they get from their $100 and a clear and concise picture of what direction the RCIA is heading and WHY we need everyones support. I think it'd be great to post pictures of our certificates, the sticker, the t-shirt and anything else that will come in the new member packets. They need something they can visually grasp that depicts the value this site has to offer. Some people are just tight asses and need to FEEL like they're getting more than they're giving. While most of us and clearly see that this board gives far more than it takes there are those that need to be shown that more clearly. I'm willing to help with whatever is needed of me.
Gary then we need to convince them to join. We need to sell them on joining.
Casting those who havent joined yet and "being done with them" isnt the way to make friends.
The only reason I have heard to join is the standard Loyalty to the Rcia for what has been learned here. Thats why I joined.
It may take more than that for some. Treating them poorly isnt going to change their minds if they havent already.
We need members. Lets get it done.
Chris' I'm a little confused by your post. WHO has thrown their hands up and said they were done with them? I, and several others, have been trying to sell them on the reasons to join, but just like the attitude that RCIA is supposed to offer them everything on a platter, they want all the new benefits right now. Don't they realize that a LOT of what we are trying to do takes time and a lot of money.
Perhaps if several more members could do some posts in the open section stating why they joined, people would get a more unbiased opinion. I have been catching a lot of "chit" lately over trying to promote membership and quite frankly I'm getting tired of the critism. Actually my job on here is to collect money and pay bills. The rest I do is just trying to help out. Gary

Some simply want something for nothing, and will offer every excuse in the book NOT to pay, even if membership included 3 hours alone with a naked Megan Fox!

The grime Scene operates on Vb Software. Its cheap and not much of a cost at all. I have offered to carry the total cost for the RCIA before.

It seems the Rcia is asking to join on loyalty and faith in what cant be seen. I dont guess some are going to go for that.
I wouldnt wish what youre having to deal with on anyone Gary. You seem to be the one dealing with the brunt of the bit**ing. Thanks for the hard work.
We just went to a paid forum, give it time guys, dont rush it they will come, Fall is here and a lot of us are tighten up for the winter, I know I am, I have a daughter in college and will be shut down till spring, Im sure a lot of the others are the same way. most the guys here are new to the business and are still in the beginning stages where money can be tight, al-though its extremely cheap to become a member its still 100 bucks...
they will come at least the ones that are serious Roof cleaners and not out there working for a days wages.. which I am more than sure a few are doing,( I wont mention any names) cause most of you know also... patience my friends
Dave

I'll join again if that's a offer is still good Chris!
On to post why I joined in under one week! See what happens. Maybe I'll post here first for some feed back. Can't do a thing anyway with this cold. If I had known calling Gary would get me sick too I would have stuck with the PM's.
