I'm confused already... I thought there were 4 folks on the board and the rest were moderators? Maybe I missed somethings (vote or otherwise?) Are moderators Directors? As a recently former Executive Director for a large corporation (F100), I'm a bit confused.
Moderators or directors? Help me understand please? thanks.
Your moderators are your board of directors yes. There are 4 execs. All 4 execs were present.
Mods are Directors???? LOL.... As per the Board? LOL even More. Hmmmmm...... Not surprised based on recent activity. Chris!!!!!!- Please re think things........

Perhaps this discussion should continue in PM's or telephone calls. This type of "discussion" (one mans opinion) does not belong in public and in NO way helps the purpose of RCIA. Gary
I had a LONG day, was grumpy, and up far too late as well. I shouldn't have even been logged on let alone posting. I can also be a tad bit opinionated........
Corporation and organizations of various types all have positions of Leadership with varying degrees of authority and responsibility.
The verbage and titles aren't as important as a clear understanding of the chain of command and responsibility to each.
A corporation has to have an Executive Board. (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) The Executive board, aka a board of directors, can appoint other positions. These positions can have other names and the people that hold these positions may have more than one area of responsibility.
The board may appoint a director of finance, a director of marketing, and a director for public relations. These are directors and part of a directorial board but are not a part of the Executive board.
The Director of public relations may also hold the title of the companies Safety coordinator.
Our Board of Directors and it's President Chris Tucker has opted for something similar.
Committees have been established and committee chair persons have been accepted. Bill has used the term "directors" synonymously with "chairperson". These individuals were selected from the group of moderators.
The moderators were chosen because of what they could bring to the table for the organization as a whole and not just because they spend time on the forum.
The "forum" and the RCIA as an organization are two seperate entities. Just because a person moderates on the forum doesn't automatically relate to anything in the organization. However Chris and the Board decided that they would only nominate moderators that they felt would/could also be able to help advance the organization.
Change is sometimes difficult to deal with but change is coming. Chris has been trying to establish a lot of this over the years almost entirely by himself. Now he has the help he needs to establish the vision that now exists. A vision that has grown over the years. Something unforeseen in the beginning.
The RCIA went from a forum for peer-to-peer training into a full blown canvas on which to create a masterpiece which will be the Industry standard for Roof Cleaning. The RCIA is bigger than a forum, bigger than a few roof cleaners, and bigger than Chris Tucker or any individual.
The RCIA has the potential to become a full blown educational organization, an association, and a standard by which the industry is measured.
This forum is simply a place to discuss how this will happen and a be a depository of knowledge for all who wish to take part.

Knowing well what goes into forming any type of organization, you guys appear to have your act together. Thanks for your hard work and dedication. It can be a thnakless endeavor and everyone will come out of the woodwork telling you how it should be done and criticize you for doing things outside the box. Just ignore it and keep moving forward. The pundits are usually the people that do not participate in anything. (that is not directed at you, Ted. Just more from personal experience)
