If this has already been brought up or otherwise discussed, I apologize for being repetitive:

For the Board's consideration, I strongly suggest that the term and section referred to as 'paid member' be dropped immediately and replaced with something that

a) can be branded and is portrayed/marketed as a premium membership

b) eliminates the inference to monies paid (currently it conjures up the wrong image, especially given the challenge in getting more folks to sign up).

Some examples from the Airline industry that could be more palatable, if not helpful:

  • RCIA Platinum Member
  • RCIA Platinum Plus Member
  • RCIA Bronze Member
  • etc

Then we tout the benefits of being a (Insert Name here) Member, vs a PAID member.  It takes all of the focus off of $$ and places it on membership of an industry leading organization.

The closed section concept needs to be sold softly, just like most of us sell our highly specialized (and profitable  smile.gif services.   Simply branding it should help immensely.  It won't solve everything, but it could very well be helpful to the RCIA in the long term.

Submitted respectfully for consideration,
Ted

+100

I agree Ted....  We need to market and sell to the new comers just as we would sell to our roof cleaning customers. I think taking the focus off the $$$ and putting it on benefits or special membership is a great idea.

This thought process displayed by Ted shows why he is successful and will continue to be so. Very well said and excellent ideas.

Folks, If I'm getting to be overbearing, please tell me to back off.  My intentions are good.

Would the Board please consider, for guest members who have brought value and otherwise good to the RCIA, yet are currently under financial duress, either an exemption of the $100 fee for this year (and this year only) *or* extending a 'credit' of sorts, allowing Premium Membership until such time that the member is able to pay?

Please see the following thread - the gentlemen is struggling to keep is home.

He intends to join when he has the means.  I recall seeing another RCIA 'guest' member or two in financial hardship as well.

As an aside, I do not target nor market the great state of Maryland (where he resides) despite the state line being very close to me.  (There are PLENTY of good, RCIA roof cleaning companies there already, trust me.)  However; should I land another deal in Northern VA this year as the season winds down, I'll offer the closed deal - no strings nor commissions requested, to the gentleman in hopes that he and his family get back on their feet soon, and keep their home.  Might I ask my Maryland RCIA colleagues to consider the same?

Together, we truly can take the RCIA to a whole new level, in many ways....

Submitted respectfully for your consideration,
Ted

Ted
As the holidays get closer and the giving starts, I say if anything we can get 10 guys to kick in $10 each, we can bring him into the premium membership.

Count me as the first $10 ( I will send the info to Gary to run the card)
Any one else?

Understandably some are experiencing hard times, but for what I have got from this forum it is time to pay it forward..smile

(Ted we hijacked the threadhmm Sorry, Gary )
Maybe a repost in the topic area?

Now THIS is a RCIA brotherhood (and a RCIA sisterhood, Sister Kim  wink.gif  !!

I'm in awe at the generosity.  Board members - your thoughts on a RCIA sanctioned program for those experiencing hard financial times?

You guys are awesome!!

(Kim - did we hijack this?  Seems to me it is a valid suggestion for the Board?)

Hard azz Ted is about to get all misty here in a minute.  The show of support in such minimal time was very moving.  Wow.

Calling on the Maryland crew again, correction - lets make that the mid-Atlantic crew: For anyone that is willing and able, and has the means; the next firm job goes to our brother in need?

Who's with me??

You guys are great. You all had me confused for a little while. Logged on tonite and had 2 PM's stating here is the money for Phil Rogers membership. I'm like, who the hell is Phil Rogers and what is going on. Now I know and am very proud of my roof cleaning brothers and sister. God bless you all.

If needed, I'll kick in $10-20 for Phil. He's a good guy and the kind of member we need. Let me know!

Ted, what a great idea and all you guys that kicked in so quickly. Wow... what a group!
From my calculations, Phil is now a PM!
When I saw this I thought of another person that fits this category. Has openly told me he was unable to join yet but still posts in a very positive and support manner. Made the PDF for the RCIA bulletin with a place for us to add our co. info and sent it to me by email. When I couldn't figure out how to edit the file, he sent it to me completely done with my co. info. There aren't many on the guest side who are willing to help out and his posts show that. Thoughts? I don't have a stream of cash coming in but I will give 10 - 20 to get Jo Foster his membership.

Copy of PM I just sent Phil.

Hello Phil;
Hope things are getting better in your finiancial picture.
Several of the premium members know of you and your contributions to RCIA through informative and inteligent posts that you have made on the forum. We are always pleased to have a person of your caliber join and assist us in our effort to build RCIA into the model we have designed.

With the holiday season rapidly approaching and your admission of your finiancial hardship, these members have decided to send you a early present.
The fee for Premium membership has been paid by these individuals for you to become one of us. Welcome.

The premium members forum is on the home page, about halfway down, right before the certified directory.  The password for entry is as follows    1125mem25
Please keep it secure and out of public view.

There is a lot of good info in there, which if used properly, should assist you in expanding and developing your business to a more profitable level.

Good luck and if you need anything or have questions, we are all here to help a brother in our organization.

Happy holidays and have a GREAT New Year.
Gary
