Delivery systems are like cars. Some can get expensive, some are cheap, some will last a long time and some will not. It boils down to personal choice and budget. I've got a 12v but its the pump I decided to start with. The 220v pump does seem to be an odd selection, but if its what you have, use it. Best of luck getting up and running

Sounds like you reinvented the wheel. Who are you trying to convince to use a 220v polyplropelene pump? I'm sure your pump will work just fine. Its just not the choice for the majority of us. I like air pumps. Other like 12v. Some like a engine powered pumps? And yes I prefer to shoot from the ridge line if possible. Other guys like Clyde love walking roofs even if its just to water his own lawn. If your pump gets the proper sauce on the shingle, to each his own.

It will NOT work, it only has 14 psi, LOL
Mag Drive is a neat concept, but lossy vs direct or air drive.

Thanks Ed...At the least you are friendly, not something I have seen so far.....But no, even with your gracious overture to stick around, I am begging off now........begging off for good big time........I am too damned old an cantankerous to deal with the many responses and slurs of sorts with the asking of such a simple question......I come from a very different and old world I think, one that is not at all protective, one that is informative to all comers, one of super dignity.......Like the first ones said, a 71 year old going up ladders?......What do they know of seventy year olds of any breed?.......They, both of them didn't even dignify my request of info, and in my day, when a 71 year old, one still capable of going up and down ladders, and still energized enough with life to put forth a fifty thousand dollar bill for trailer unit and truck to go into this business, on my block, where I come, from, that is all the entrée they need to get full attention to any question about a simple friggin roof cleaning pump.........Thanks Ed.......You are unique in this society of protective brotherhood......I wish you well...............

This is why I love this forum so much.  The professionals on this forum treat all who enter with respect regardless of their inexperience and their methods of cleaning roofs which do not conform with our proven non-pressure roof cleaning methods.  Mr. jgrippi seemed angry about something ,  and your responds was right on target. There is a golden opportunity in these threads for people to learn and succeed in this business. We are not here to disprove his system, but to educate through our failures and success on the easiest , best , and safest way to clean roofs through our systems. Any and all of the information needed is at our fingertips through this forum, and thanks for all of the time and knowledge that these professionals gave us.

Considering so many guys use air systems in Florida,..he was already convinced it wouldn't work due to high humidity,...never reading enough to debunk his own reasoning. A little reading and he would have seen that humidity effect on these systems has never been discussed as any type of problem.

I agree with the person above,..he seems angry,..and came here with all the answers already,..and for some reason wanted to change the industry before he even cleaned one roof.

Not the case at all.....I simply made a query to this site looking for an a/c pump to match up with an a/c generator which I already have and wanted to use as a startup setup for cost reasons.....Apparently, to the many respondents, it wasn't simple at all....It sure turned out anything but.....However, the techies at Cole-Parmer have responded to my e-mail and have put me on my way with a good pump unit that will do the job nicely.....No further questions will be forthcoming.....

Here are some threads that talks about A/C pumps that can be run off the customers power or possibly a generator if you needed to...

Grippi I know in your heart you tried not to be here anymore. lol. Look at the above post from Chris Tucker from Apple Roof Cleaning. He knows best when it comes to things like this. He stated your 220v pump in question was only 14psi. I dont think he would of said it if he didnt know for sure. If your spending 50 G's on a rig, about 1/20th of that amount could be used for a really sweet set up for cleaning roofs. No need to create a Rube Goldberg. There are threads on this forum with pics of rigs for roof cleaning. This should give you a good idea what the pros are using.

I was being polite because he was gracious enough to take the time to respond as other didn't......Fact is, the guys at Cole-Parmer fixed me up with a reasonably priced pump that allows me to use my generator as originally planned......Looking at the Teel pump that Jo recommended, that one of your people selected and is probably still using it in an electric system, from the specs and look of it, it too would be a good choice......With my limited knowledge, an excellent one I believe.....None of the is Rube Goldberg, just folks trying to make the best choices of many options, my choice was to go full electric for this part of the business...Apparently, others have made this choice too......Choosing the wrong psi pump initially is nothing to laugh about, only children do that sort of thing, with diligence during the process, most times the best choices are made and implemented as things move along....Such is my case as well......

for less than 1500 you can have an air set up and hose reel with 3/4 hose and have a system that will last for years.

I just think the 220 volt pump is really dangerous to have around the tanks full of chem and water. Also the pump wont last very long with the exposure to the vapors of the sh.

Just my personal opinion..

jgrippi-

Personally I love the electric pumps. I use both Myers and Teel. I've had no reaction with SH and the pumps at all, but I don't store them in an enclosed trailer (that might be tough on the pumps). You'll need to either install a pressure release valve, a re-circulator, or let of the pressure build-up ever minute or so with one of these types of pumps.

I have had an issue with the capacitor blowing/electric malfunctions in the Myers pump.

I swear by them. My skin crawls when I have to run the generator. I love the quietness of the electric pumps.

There's lots of ways to skin a cat, as well as lots of ways to build a softwash rig. My first rig that I owned had a polaris pool pump on it as a way to spray the love! WOrked very well too!!!!!
