How could you know this without ever trying it?

This has less to do with actually throwing postcards than it does about people pretending to be experts on things they know nothing about. Especially when they've been in business less than a year.

It reminds me of me when I got started. Telling people why the 5800 was amazing and way better than anything else when I hadn't even tried anything else. I remember talking about how 1/2" was king when I hadnt tried 5/8". (I have now and 1/2" is still king :) )

Like I said Scott there's better ways to advertise.  And for your information I have owned several small businesses over the past 15 years.  We started cleaning roofs in 2009.  So you wanna get into a pissing contest? You litter and we choose not to.  O.K, end of story.  Buy the way we use 5/8 if you care.

About time to cool this topic or finish it up with PM's ot phone calls.

Last week I tossed 300 flyers to selective homes. I have recieved 3 calls wanting quotes and I closed them all this week. I have not recieved one negative response (knock on wood). One prospect even talked about how creative it was that I had a postcard in a bag. I love it, I just wish the weather in Central Illinois would warm up so I can get to work!

I have not tried the rock throwing, but I have gone door to door and knocking on them. If the home owner answers I introduce myself give them a large post card and tell them to have a great day, if they are not home I just put the card in the door. Now if some one has a no soliciting sign up I don't stop. If some one is rude and says no thanks I just say no problem, here is my card have a great day. I have only sold a few roofs on the day that I went door to door but I always get lots of calls from people who I chatted with and they took my card. usually several wks later. Now this is time consuming and somewhat repetitive but I still love getting to meet all different kinds of people. I just might try the rock throwing thing in a neighborhood and see what kind of reaction I get.

We have 7 booked with deposits from approximately 800 postcards tossed. Waiting on the weather now. The new website is also starting to bring in the calls.
