Just ordered the new 7GPM Flojet!

Just placed the order about an hour ago. This thing is supposed to be indestructible. The relay is mounted INSIDE the housing with a heat wicking heat shrink on it. Plus it's got the QC's built in for quick repairs, and change outs. Plus Bob said he has about 6 on the road now for a few months and they pump stronger than the delevans. They're not even on his website yet.

We'll see!!! It's first test will be a 27 building apartment complex in a week and a half!! Lol

Been using it for a few weeks now. So far so good on a 5.5 Northern compressor. Major upgrade from the Fatboy which I still have hooked up for back up. Whats new to me is being able to turn down the pressure as low as you need to and not worry about cycling. Its disturbingly light and made in China but Bob swears by it. Im happy with it so far.

Ed,

Im not talking about the air pump. This pump is just like the Fatboy, 12v and 7gpm. Its just supposed to be a much more durable pump, which would be amazing.

FloJets are known for durability Scott, way before there were 12 volt Delavans, FloJets ruled the 12 volt pump market. Does it have 1/2 inch intakes ?

Yea, I actually have 2 flojets that I use for transferring chems. The one I mainly use has fallen off the truck numerous times, even broken the fan blades, but still pump almost 100%.

Yes 1/2" intake/outake thank god.

Is yours the self priming up to 8 feet? The info I saw online has 3/4" intake! Is that for real? or a mistake?

Not sure actually. Bob said 1/2 inch. The intake I don't mind being 3/4, but I hope the discharge is 1/2

here is some info, it does appear to have 3/4 inlets/outlets, and Glass Filled NYLON Heads, not good from a theoretical point of view no The Chlorine and it's fumes will attack the fiberglass, and Nylon is a  BIG No No for Sodium Hypochlorite use, having a D Rating. However, this is only theory. The Nylon may be thick enough that the other parts of the pump will fail long before IT does. The proof will be in the using, as more reports come in about it's reliability, or lack of it. How much does it cost ? This info was emailed to me by Al Gigliotti, thank you AL !

Here is the Nylon Sodium Hypochlorite Chemical Compatability Info from Cole Parmer.
This is considered 'The Bible" by chemical engineers. However, I have seen other charts giving Nylon an "A" rating yawn
It is my experinece these charts giving Nylon an A Rating are wrong. Any Roof Cleaner can prove this by going to Lowes or Home Depot, and buying a Nylon Hose Barb, see how long it lasts. The Chlorine attacks and softens the Nylon, and the Nylon Hose barbs will break, w/o any warning!

Chemical Compatability Results

The Material Selected Nylon
Interacting with the Chemical Sodium Hypochlorite (<20%)
Has a Compatibility Level of D-Severe Effect
See our selection of Sodium Hypochlorite (<20%)

Explanation of Footnotes
1. Satisfactory to 72°F (22° C)
2. Satisfactory to 120°F (48° C)

Ratings -- Chemical Effect
A = Excellent.
B = Good -- Minor Effect, slight corrosion
or discoloration.
C = Fair -- Moderate Effect, not recommended
for continuous use. Softening, loss of strength,
swelling may occur.
D = Severe Effect, not recommended for ANY use.
N/A = Information Not Available.

That is all that matters, for theory and practice are not always the same!

We must see how it  holds up, in the real world. Plus, FloJet is a clever company, and may have some additive in the Nylon to get around this ? Time will tell ....

Good info Chris. Can you post the same info for the fatboy?

As for the nylon, I agree not the best choice. Howevrrvi loom at it like I do stainless steel or brass, you buy Chinese brand quality and they wont hold up near as well. Same with nylon.

As soon as I get this pump I'm gonna beat the crap out of it, and I don't rinse, ever. We'll see how it holds up compared to the fatboy.
