How do you guys hook up the safety lines. What kind of lines do you use that wont get eaten up by the chems?

please don't take this wrong, I mean all due respect here and I'm really looking for a nice way to put this... all the newbies get; use the search button and read. But I see that you're not a newbie so I'm at a loss for words.
Thanks for the tip Jo. However, with the exception of the type of rope neither post answered my question. There is rarely a roof down here that is not walkable and we can shoot pretty high from a ladder with our pump. But some times i want my guy harnessed and am trying to find other ways to hook up lines than to the truck or a deck post or a tree, and fastening an anchor to the roof is pretty difficult through tiles.

The laws of physics are never easy to work with. Anchoring to a point lower than you are working means you have to fall twice as far as the distance you are from your highest anchor. The only way around this is to anchor higher than your working. If there is nothing to anchor to in the immediate work area, your best option might be to go over the ridge or peak to a stable anchor below.
I really link the roof pipe anchor that AC has been introducing. It could possible solve a lot of problems we all have with anchoring, but there is no 100% guarantee against a safety system eliminating a fall. Its only a good reducer of the probability of someone being surely injured due to a fall. There is no substitute for common sense and your gut feeling.
Let us know if you find a suitable anchor for your situation on the tile roofs, just shy of a helcoptor or a lift.
Hmmm... I give them an A for ingenuity. But looking at how to use this while spraying love on the roof could get a bit more complicated. You'd need to keep the rope and gear suspended off the shingles, as not to come in contact with the SH. Not saying that it couldn't be done, but have you looked at the cost of the equipment they're using? Love will not treat this stuff very kindly. I like the equipment, but IMO this technique would be more costly than a single rope to a ground anchor over the ridge.
interesting setup, kinda kewl, but i think the Love would be a problem on this and also gutters will play a roll in this thingy, I dont think there was gutters on this house , wouldn't the wheels get stuck in the gutters ???

Not knowing who all knows what about fall arrest protection, I looked up a few youtube vids and found a couple that are farley thorough. Note: there is more information in the videos than what relates to roof washing applications. Take what relates to our industry and just watch the rest. These vids still do not mention a satisfactory residential roof anchor for temp use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WaXjB9lg3w&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-aZnIn5WLw&feature=related
Also ran into this thread from another forum on steep roof training with some good pics of safety harnesses and rope anchors. (first pic is about 1/2 way down the page and continues over the next few pages)
