I just had mine converted over to a wordpress site. These guys are the cheapest I have ever seen. Give them a call, Tell them I sent you. Ask For Brad.
What would be the average cost for a very well designed website with alots of flash?
We have a guy selling fully flash based 5 page web sites for 499.00 on the Forum with SEO included. Look through the the Forum at what some of our web guys guys offer, and shop around, see what you feel is best for you.
I really think 5-page websites are a thing of the past now. If someone is to get good ROI on their marketing $$ and have it positioned in the Top search results, the website has to be growing in content, posts/pages etc....if not as fast as RCIA, whatever best is possible. Some time back I read this article - http://www.entrepreneur.com/ebusiness/buildingawebsite/article206968.html.
You are right on the Flash part. We sometimes use animated GIFs & jQuery slideshows over Flash. Those are faster to load, provide almost close to flash effect, would show on most browsers (though only few browsers do not have flash plugins now but you never know how much tech saavy people are!) and better for search engines.
For anyone that can wait until the winter months, I build websites also. Wordpress sites so that you can update and add photos/content. Call if you want some references.
PS..... Every site I have ever worked on is one page 1 of google for thier targeted keywords.

Ryan can definitely put together a better LOOKING site than I can, I have no problem being the first person to admit that...
I do utilize the same WP theme for alot of websites that I DO build for people, including my own site, thats why his and mine look similar...
But Ryan is better at tweaking the themes etc, I don't do alot with editing .PHP or CSS. Hence my lower price tag for web design.
Great Analogy too, as a general rule, I've noticed that the best web designers (visually speaking) suck at SEO, and the best SEO's are not very good at creating visually appealing sites.

The go daddy web site builder was hard for me to use. I went to where you said, and looked at it. This is a sample of a website made with their system, it looks real simple to use. Business website
