Thanks Chris. I think it will enhance credibility.
I guess I don't understand how this will enhance credibility. Are you really going to carry it around with you in a frame and show it to customers???? Credibility is where you send them to RCIA to see that you are on the list. Heck I can make one up and print it out in 10 minutes and they would never know if it was real or not.

Oh great. Another certificate that will sit around and get thrown away in a few years. I'm all for the tattoo.
What is your value of the RCIA?
Value is limitless. I don't need a piece of paper to tell me or remind me. Sorry I offended you. I'm just saying I don't need to look up on the wall to see a piece of paper to feel warm and cozy about myself. Putting RCIA certified on my truck would work for me. That's just me. I have about 5 certificates laying around here somewhere already. Again that is just me. I can see the need for someone wanting physical proof of their achievement.

It's a good idea. The silliest one I've ever gotten was the "Wolman Certified Contractor". Yipppeeee!!

I read your bio dude. Hope you get them jetskis! You been washing wood 20 years now. ME not so long. A certificate from Wolman is bad arse to me.
It was an accomplishment I didnt have.
Certificates arent for us really but for the customer.
The RCIA has no meaning. It doesnt mean chit... to the customer. Unless we give it meaning!!!! Bill said that to me.
I assume by your last statement 'bout wolman certification, It aint chit. Are you going to be like that with RCIA?
We still dont know who you are? You in raleigh from northern va, That aint much. Whats your company? .... WHO ARE YOU?
This is the best place to share knowledge about roof washing. You so smart! Share some knowledge about wood.
Dont pm me but put it here.
Your expertise about wood washing. (since I'm Wolman certified, something I dont know)
Me wanting a paper certificate isnt just for me. Its for everyone in the RCIA. Gives us an edge over the roof shampoo guy, or anyone that uses a surface cleaner, roof broom or pitch witch.
If you were big in roof washing like I am you would see there is a lot of misinformation out there for washing roofs.
Something tells me you just here for info. Rob the RCIA. You knock a certificate from Wolman.
have You sold a roof yet and mentioned the RCIA which taught you how to do it?
It sounds like you wouldnt mention RCIA, or Wolman You just a bad arse dude! Come in steal what ya can.
Or you are scared. Coming here to llearn what ya can and mess up progress for the RCIA. Maybe you bought a roof shampoo franchise down there in Raleigh? LOL!!!
To have a negative impact on this thread.
These are some out there things I'm saying. Or assumming. All my threads are open to anyone. Say what ya want. I try to learn from everyone.
You dont want RCIA learned contractors to have a piece of paper.
You think its fair to ask the customer to 1 do a search for roof cleaning contractors. Find that website. And search to find out if you are certified or not.
Aint nobody going to do that!
It's too much work.
The piece of paper cuts all that.
All my roof washin buddies. The ones that wash wood too. Dont try to get Wolman certified. It aint chit.

Holy Chit. How much have you had to drink? I thought you were kidding when you said it was hard for you. When I took the test 15 years ago I thought it was ridiculously easy. I was tight with Wolman and loyal for 15 years. Chris was cool. They would fly me up there and take me out on the town. Starting out with box seats for baseball games. Then night out at strip joints drinking and smoking cigars. Since day one I had direct communication with their chemist. They were a small friendly company. I told customers what I used (Wolman F&P Natural) and that was it. If they wanted me to use something like Thompsons I would tell them no. I'm not interested in doing the job. 8 years ago I also started offering Wolman Extreme, at a lot bigger price of course :) 3 years after starting my business I never had to advertise again. I was lucky enough to start my company with the help of a good screen porch and deck builder. He would put my sealing of his new deck and porches on his proposal. Not only did I have those jobs but I returned every year to redo them. alot of my customers I had for 8 to 15 years. I realise now how spoiled and lucky I was. 90% of my customers I never met. If I saw them in church I wouldn't have a clue. They call, I tell them I will put them on the list. The day before I come out I call them and tell them I'm coming and to have everything off the deck and leave a check taped to the back door. I never had to waste my time by going out to do an estimate. If they were a new customer that I got from word of mouth I would ask them the measurement of the deck, if it has a stain on it..etc. etc.etc. I would give them a price over the phone. Now being in a new town having no connections and starting fresh is a big dif. I waste allot of gas just doing estimates. Before if I gave a price I pretty much had the job. They new my work. Now let me respond to some of your remarks. Something tells me you just here for info. Rob the RCIA. Duh! Yes after talking to Chris on the phone I came to this site to get info. I was completely clueless about roof cleaning. I have given when I had something to give. Now I am here to be apart of something. You knock a certificate from Wolman. Yep. It was way to easy and maybe because I never had to use it to get jobs. have You sold a roof yet and mentioned the RCIA which taught you how to do it? No I haven't sold a roof. I get all my stuff from PWP Monday. Then I put my trailer together. I'm not certified yet so no I'm not mentioning RCIA Or you are scared. Coming here to llearn what ya can and mess up progress for the RCIA. Maybe you bought a roof shampoo franchise down there in Raleigh? LOL!!! Scared? Really? The only thing that scares me is my wife leaving me. How am I messing up progress? I don't even know what a roof shampoo franchise is. You dont want RCIA learned contractors to have a piece of paper. Have your paper I don't care. I just gave my opinion. Earlier you said "Offended me? This thread is open discussion bro. If you dont agree with me I want to know why? of course!!! lol!!!... Maybe I'm wrong? This will be decided here." Now all of a sudden it sounds like you are offended. Calling me scared and attacking my ass. It sounds like you wouldnt mention RCIA, or Wolman You just a bad arse dude! Come in steal what ya can. I would mention RCIA. I would have it all over my truck and trailer. No I wouldn't mention Wolman. I don't need to. Wolman has gone to Chit since they were bought out by Rustoleum. You call in and you are really really lucky if you get someone that knows about the product. . You think its fair to ask the customer to 1 do a search for roof cleaning contractors. Find that website. And search to find out if you are certified or not. No. Give them the hyperlink to here where you are listed. All my roof washin buddies. The ones that wash wood too. Dont try to get Wolman certified. It aint chit. Now you are giving mixed messages. you just posted... "A certificate from Wolman is bad arse to me. It was an accomplishment I didn't have." You so smart! Share some knowledge about wood. What is there to share? Be gentle and never never never use bleach.
I just tried to post my opinion. I never used the paper Wolman sent me. So to me a certificate from here wasn't needed. I will tell them I am RCIA certified and with the estimate would be the link to make sure I am. Any one can make a piece of paper. Hell people are making up fake diplomas all the time. "Whew!" I haven't written this much since I did my dissertation in college. Lmao. I don't have a clue what a dissertation is.
P.S. I would buy Wolman at a very low price from Steve Siperstein in New Jersey. Shipped to my door free. I ordered 1 to 3 pallets at a time. Plus no tax.

Gutterdog has a passion..he's like a junk yard dog! I met him in Tampa. Good heart...wants to learn all he can. You just have to understand that he is very passionate about everything he does. Throw the dog a bone, and he will settle down. He is very interested in the certificate, which I am sure there are more out there, but they will not speak up....
