Brown Roof Jacks?

I recently cleaned this roof and the lead-wrapped  roof jacks (or at least that's what I hear people call them) turned brown.   The mix was about 35% SH with Hangtite and alcohol.    I went back and scrubbed them with a scrub pad and some soap and the stain came right off.

Have any of you seen this happen on your jobs?  Will rain wash it off so that it returns back to the grey color?

Before.... (that clean square was the demo I did for the home owner the previous day)

Yes. They are just oxidized and will come back after a rain or 2.

That is the soft magnizium "sp" they use for the boots. Most of the time they use zinc which doesnt turn color. You will see that squirrules will actually eat these for the minerals. It does turn brown when the bleach causes it to oxidize. It is temporary and they will return to grey in a few weeks.

Thanks,

AC
