I just wanted to see what the consensus is for the best way to transfer SH from a 55gal drum to the Mix tank?
I've seen some rotary hand pumps, though the user reviews I read aren't so hot - not very efficient or reliable.
Im thinking of using my All-Flo to xfer from the drum to the mix tank.... it is rated for SH, and would be easy to flush it with water after the xfer if necessary...
I use the same pump for everything. Plumb it in and put in a few valves so the same pump can do it all. Just be sure to rinse it well.

I don't have the set up for such yet. I'll need to pump from the drum as needed. Any recommendation on a drum pump, hand pump, I could use and where I might purchase such.
Harbor Freight has some cheap pumps, I don't think you want a hand pump, they have a 110v pump for about $40.00 or so, plus if you get a 10% off coupon, save some more $$.
Keep it rinsed and should last until you get everything you need...
Been using that pump for over a year. Take the cover off the end and the fan blade so you can free it up. It will stick every time after use even if you wash it well. Give it a turn with a set of pliers and you're good to go. Works for me!!

I use a 5gpm Delavan to transfer, it works off a car battery and I only have to charge it once in a while.
I always flush it out with water when done for the day and I get about 1 year out of those Delavan pumps.

i use the green top hand pump. The red ones are garbage. yeah, i dunno why i didn't install a bulkhead and plumb through the pump....probably didn't want to see all the extra piping. (also my guys are confused enough with 4 valves; its sad)
