I did a house wash about a month ago and the guy asked about some rust stains on the roof over his front porch. I went to the second floor and sprayed some Oxalic Acid out the window onto the stain, started doing the house wash and the rust came right off with just a water hose. The rust came from the dripping of the air conditioner onto the shingles instead of being channeled into the gutters. The guy paid me a little extra for doing that but after the fact, he told me that he was worried he was going to have to spend $300 to have the shingles replaced. I said i'd take half of what he thought he was going to have to spend. LOL.

I've used Rust-Aid. Super Iron Out works well also.
Whats the ingredients of those? I mainly keep oxalic acid on the truck for wood brightener and concrete brightener. Never used it for rust. Heard that rust was another use for it. It works well for both (wood n concrete).
Ive never come accross one yet. Sure I will one day. What can be used on roofs to remove rust? Oxalic acid is what I'm thinking? Any ideas?

Oxalic acid is great for removing rust stains but you need to be careful with it. It WILL bleach the shingles if you are not careful. Spray on, wait 5 min and spray off. Then repeat if necessary.
