Talk to your Insurance agent about general liability in the 1,000,000 dollar range.

     Roof cleaning can be tough to find insurance for if your agent isn't familiar with it. I carry 500,000/1,000,000 policy coverages and the rate was very reasonable. It is well under $1,000/year

Quite a few people here use Joe Walters agency. They are also located in PA and can write insurance all over the country. I have checked their prices with my guy and they are about the same. I don't have their contact info handy, but if you google the company name it should be the first link.

If you call my guy, just tell him that Brian from The Roof Cleaners gave you his info. He has taken very good care of others that I have sent to him.

Your current PW insurance supplier should also be able to cover you, it may not even cost you any more.

Wow, I thought $.30/1.00 was steep!

All states are different, but you may be able to get the state to make an exception for your company if you can explain to someone exactly what you do and how many employee would be on a roof.

PA doesn't have a class for roof cleaners. They don't even really have a class for pressure washers either. They list you as a "flat work" guy or a "roofer". It's crazy!
I have been dealing with my insurance broker and he got the state to agree to cover me in the "flat work" class as long as I was the only one climbing ladders. That would drop the rate down to $.15/1.00. In PA you have to go into a state pool for the first two years and then you can get some cheaper rates as long as you don't have any accidents in the first two years.

You may want to talk to your agent about it Michael.

BTW, Joe Walters told me that they couldn't offer me comp in the state of PA as a roof cleaner. That is why I said that my insurance guy works really hard for me. He never told me no.
