Wow, I missed this thread along with a lot of others when I was very busy out there working.
Is AC going to the Tampa event?
It would be great if he did and got a chance to speak, I know it would benefit a lot of us but I understand he is probably very busy this time of year.

Dead for us too AC, for first time I can remember, we went 2 days w/o any roof cleaning work, last week was terrible.

I am taking my whole family. Work is finally slowing down here a bit, but between rejuvenating my roof cleaning system, fixing broken pressure washers, and the radiator in my truck finally I have been staying busy. I drove my truck around for three weeks with what turned out to be a bad radiator. I had to drive with the heater on... Talk about hot! Hope to see you in Tampa.
We have had some slow down here in MD as well, been getting more siding and painting work than roof cleaning. We have done over 100 roofs this year and that's great, but we are out hustling to try and get more. I have a salesperson interview on Monday to go after the commercial work in Annapolis, we will see how it works out.
I got my hotel room booked, got my plane ticket, just have to wait until it is time to leave.
I will be there, hope to see everyone there!

Dead here too. Had a call yesterday, lady said she wanted my quote to be close to everyone else's. I told her it would be, if she got quotes from Certified roof cleaners. I know for a fact that the only company that is near me is dead as well....
Washed-up wrote:Dead here too. I have a partial roof job Thursday. That is why I power & pressure wash also. To fill in the void between roof jobs. Roof cleaning has not really caught on in my area yet.
I've got 5 tile roofs 1 shingle roof and an apartment complex waiting to be cleaned if this weather ever let's up!!!! Finally went out yesterday and caught up on some pressure washing. That stuffs hard without a helper!! Lol
I am arriving Thursday July 29 around 1pm and leave Monday August 2 in the afternoon.
Definately going to go by Pressure Washer Products and meet my friends again and talk some shop.
Not sure if I am going to rent a car while I am there or just get taxi's.
Looking to see who wants to get together maybe at dinner to meet and talk shop.

Did you loose your helper Scott? We have been working several jobs every rain or shine...

I will be driving down to Tampa, about 1.5 hours away. I will have my personal vehicle, if anyone needs a lift to dinner, to PWP, or the such, if I'm going that way....get my number and give me a shout!!
Driving 06 Durango that seats 8...save some cab $$

Its funny, when I wrote that 3 or so days ago, he was still working with me, not anymore. lol. I had gone out on my own because it was easy stuff I could do alone and save those labor costs.
As for the rain, we do 90% roofs which cant be done in the rain. Finally catching up this week.

Sorry to hear that you lost your help Scott... It costs, but that is why I pay my help salary. It is hard to keep the good employees.
We only had 1 or 2 days that rained all day. On the other days when it had rained I just use more SH. At least the grounds are already prewet. I would rather clean a dry roof, but I will take a wet and cool day over a hot one any day unless it rains continuous then it is power washing only. If it slows down any I would like to come see you soon about the rig modification that I am doing.
He was actually on salary. We put him on it this year because last year was so Up and Down, we didnt want him to go through that again.
we're not booked out far enough where i need to worry about rescheduling because of rain. If its over 50% or over 15mph winds I reschedule. You only work in the Katy area but we work up to 60 miles away so I can take the chance of driving all the way out there only to have it rain all day and sit in the truck. Know what I mean?

What modification are you doing?
That is what I like about working only a local area. No long distance driving between jobs. Traveling is lost money. Quite often I have my helper doing a job while I am giving quotes. Then I pick him up and move to the next job and go give quotes again or man the phone and do book work in the truck...
Adding a 2nd all-flo pump, a fat boy, a 4th hose reel, a 100 gal SH tank, relocating my electronic relay box, relocating my old roof pump. After that I am going to see which hose is better 5/8 or 1/2. I have 200' of both now. I would like to see how you rigged your fat boy pump. I am dying to try it but too many mods and not enough time. The Fat Boy is lower priority than other mods since the all-flo is working fine but redundancy is the way to go. I hate having problems that I cant work around on a job.
Business had slowed down but now it has gone through the roof again. I hope it slows down during the Tampa convention. Getting 4-5 calls a day with a 90% call to job ratio. Thank god most are repeat customers so I do not have to look at their job again.
Sounds like you are very busy Marcus, sure hope you don't have to cancel the Tampa trip, it would be a shame as it is looking to be a very good event.
Who else is going to Tampa?
