Yep, probably. But it would not have reached the tops of this house. And I didn't see the need to switch out tips since the one I used worked fine.

This thread should probably be used to talk about using videos like this to promote and sell roof cleaning though. Does anybody else use videos like this?

I'm thinking about maybe using an iPad to show various videos to customers.

I love the idea of the Ipad. I'm looking at getting one very soon. Just walk up to the house, jump on the net, go to your site and show them the videos.

One idea for the video up top. Maybe think of doing another one without the wheelbarrow and metal thing at the corner of the wall. Also, look for a site where bushes are at the base of the wall and show you watering and covering with a tarp. You could speed that part up, but I'm sure it will put a lot of ppl at ease seeing you take the care...

Videos are the way to go! I am working on one -- just a slide show for now -- but I'm having some tech. difficulties getting it up loaded.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a good video is worth millions!

I just picked up a 10" notebook.
I'm able to show slide shows on it now.
I really need to get some videos together, that would be great.

I'm also working on hooking up a copy/printer in the truck for a mobile office.

Education seems to be the key to this business and I can't think of a better thing than a video. Show always beats tell.

I have a Kodak Z18 HD Video Camera, but we don't make roof cleaning videos showing us cleaning roofs, been there, done that, got this response "WTF do you mean 1250.00 to clean my roof, all you are doing is wetting it down with a garden hose"

I have to agree with you chris , i feel i have to do more at times so I spend time on the gutters , washing the exterior by hand and a brush.... It take a whole 30 minutes to do a roof and then less time to wash a house.... I dont think i would use a video

P.S. I think the correct way to wash a house is from the bottom up... MHO

Many don't realize you sell the Sizzle, not the Steak !
Outback Steak House is a Tampa Headquarted Steak House, and has absolutely nothing to do with the "Land Down Under"
They have been successful in selling an overpriced Sirloin Steak you can get at any Truck Stop for 1/2 the money.
It is all about marketing !!!!!!
Do you think Outback will show their steak as being the same cut of meat, cooked the same way as the Tampa Truckstop ?
Heck no! Then it turns the sale of their steak into a price war.
There is no wait for a steak at the Tampa Truckstop, yet people will pay double, and wait in line for the exact same steak at Outback!
It is all about marketing guys, keep some Mystery and Expertise in your process, show before and after pics in your videos, narrate it if you like. Show plant protection, and smiling happy people, but for God's sake, do not show the actual cleaning Process, and the roof responding to it.
For IF you do, you have just de valued roof cleaning for us all.
Remember these words I heard long ago "WTF do you mean, charging me 1250.00 just to spray some chit on my roof"

I tell my customers that the blend I use is proprietary. The base is recommended by ARMA and then custom blended for my company.

I will spend a little extra time there if they seem to be upset about the length of time spent on the roof.

yes be careful putting too much meat and potatoes on your web site. The consumer will make the decision without inviting you to the party. You always want to give the consumer a reason to call but tease them. Then give them the goods once you are onsite. Then slide the quote across the table to them, sit back and shut up! It had moving path graphics, titles and more. Just low quality because in 2000 everyone didnt have a T-3 pipline connection to view streaming video. I did it all inhouse back when it cost big bucks to put all the equipment together.
