Congrats, you are on your way. Use the Search Box for Battery and tank info ... you will get some great advice from these Pro's. Also, make sure your storage tanks can draw from the top rather than the bottom to minimize leak issues.

For extended pump life, get rid of the 90 deg fitting and increase your supply hose to at least an inch in inside diameter. Mike Sulllivan says, 'not to use the poly gun'. He is the Yoda of the Fatboys!

all good advice. Especially about the poly gun. Use a 1/2" or 3/4" ball valve depending on what size hose your'e using.

Lori,

Why don't you guys sell pre-made kits?

I'm just wondering, if everything goes well with this project I will update to one of your air-pumps, that's a promise.

Just wondering out loud on the kit idea.

Thanks for all you guys do on this site.

I ended up at HomeDepot and picked up a 3/4 ball valve, I reduced the end to 1/2, because that is the size of the hose.

The FatBoy kit came with hose, wand, etc..PT kit. $556, plus $99 for the boxes..

Not to wild about the box, I added a 1/2 nipple to get it outside the box, plus I cut out another opening to get the wires outside the box.

I am trying to get some quick connects for the hoses, and might ditch the 1/2 hose from the tank and increase to 3/4.

Hahaha! I can't help it. Everytime I read the title to this thread it reminds me of this video.

Everything I have read here is telling me to pull the top off the pump when its running, my pump box has a built in fan and a switch on the top part of the box, do I need to cut another vent area?

I already cut the side to allow the power wires out.

Thanks for any info.

The lid has openings to allow the wire to hang over the top. No need to cut any holes.

Not this one, its pre-wired and has the fuse holder and eyelets all ready installed, so I punched a hole in the side.

Anyone considering the black box kits needs to do some major homework, I really thought I had it  made with this set-up........but after today(got a battery) and the damn thing would not fit in the box pissed me off, now I either have to make something or get a bigger box........plus I drilled some holes in the bottom of the pump box per Lori, and glad I did, because on the test it leaked, but leaked outside the box, thanks Lori.......but it looks like the pump will lose the box....
