Ditch the backpack sprayer. And as far as ideal setups, to each his own. My setup is the most effecient for me, as I have experimented with various setups through the years. Make your setup work for you.

I was kinda thinking about one of those backpacks too. But those side levers could definitely be bad if it gets caught.

I like the Gilmour 2-3 gallon pump sprayers sold at Lowe's for small touch up spots or free demonstrations.

LOL yea, that is a bad spot for it to leak. I had one that I used for putting down strippers and brighteners on decks and it leaked down my lower back years ago and go to that tender spot, boy it sucked for about a week. Never used one for roof cleaning, be careful though, be safe.

only problem is it has a 2 inch drain at the bottom which equals potential leak.

100 gallon tank at tractor supply no drain and cost 299.99 i have two of them.

I like the fact that they are local and if you think about it 65 gallons will really only allow you to do 1 maybe two roofs.

I have one for sh and one for my mix i turn a valve and pump sh into the mix tank when i need to make more.

No more 5 gallon buckets.

I am well aware that there are many types of setups and mine is far from ideal.  Any glaring issues or input?  Keep in mind that for now this is and adjunct to my home inspection business that I am changing to a Home Services company to include Roof cleaning, House cleaning, pressure washing etc.

I would also like to hear what is needed for an air pump setup and what the cost differential is

Terry.  You are off to a good start.  How many ladders will you have?  Some other things to consider:  What about tarps, safety harness, ladder stabilizer, goggles, protective coating under your tank in case SH, hose reels ....

 

I totally agree the backpack sprayer is more trouble and dangerous than it looks!
