Hey guys My name is Joe Ortiz been reading alot on here from you guys and have my first big question. One of my commercial clients wants his roof cleaned, but he just bought the house and says the roof is a fiberglass reinforced  barrel tile. He went up there with a PW and started going to town on it but he feel off and said he tore up half of the roof before falling. he says its called "Mexi-tile" but that is a manufacture of tile down here. Have you ever heard of it? and  would i clean it the same way? Sorry i dont have pics yet but I will try and take them asap.

My Boat is made of fiberglass, and the roof cleaning solution takes mildew right off of it. Talk to Scott Davis of Confident Roof Cleaning Houston, TX.
I know Scott has run into some weird tile roofs in Texas, he may be more knowledgeable about this type of tile roof.

Yea these are actually "Maxi Tiles". They are a fiberglass/organic tile made for houses that are not reinforced for heavier tiles. Thus making them very very light, and brittle. It depends on how old the tiles are. 7-8 years ago they started putting a glaze on them which would help with the cleaning, before that no glaze.

My suggestion is to go to his house with a 50/50 mix and spray a small section. If it has a glaze it will clean right up. If not, it will soak up the chemical like a sponge and will still be dirty. If the latter happens, keep spraying it (4-5 times) and it should clean up.

I did this roof below in Lake Charles LA, it was about 10k sqft of roof space and we used over 1000 gallons of mix. But it looked nice. We made money but not much. On the way back to Houston we got a call for another one of these roofs, we charged properly, told them how much mix we would use, and to expect plant damage. This was the testimonial I got.

"I would like to thank Confident Roof Cleaning for the outstanding job they did cleaning our roof. Scott and his crew were very efficient and professional. They are true masters at what they do and I would not trust my roof to any
other operation. In fact, my husband and I had tried in vain for over four years to find professionals to clean our roof. After several attempts by other roof cleaners, Confident Roof Cleaning was the only company that was able to
clean our roof successfully. I truly recommend them!"

Call me if you have any questions.

One more thing, you CAN NOT walk on these. The second house owner said he threw a tennis ball to his dog, it bounced, hit the roof and shattered a tile. Not good. It has to be Chit from a ladder or the ground.

Thanks guys the guy actually fell off his roof, while cleaning it with a PW. He also said that he broke a few tiles. This roof is installed over the Shingle roof, the previous home owner just wanted a different look. I will hit it with a 50/50 mix. Again thank you guys for the heads up
