How long do Fatboys last?

I am so glad I bought the 3/8 all Flo pump. I remember long time ago when I always used those sure-flo pumps, I had nothing but problems always. I through all of them away and started using pack packs LOL.

that was eleven years ago I'm sure pumps improved since then, but Lori told me to buy the All-flo pump and I would never have those experience's again.

the All-flo pump you just pull the rope to the compressor and the pump works.

to this day all I hear is you guys having problems with the other pumps.

why don't you guys just throw them away, why do you continue tormenting your-selfs?

Hey Walk,

I think I am going with the All flo next year, thank you. I am just curious about the Fatboy for this year.

I know it is hard to answer but roughly what 15 jobs, 25 jobs, 50 jobs. Does anyone out there have ideas?

I pray evertime I flip the switch that it will actually pump something.

Brad I couldn't honestly tell you how many jobs you could get out of an All-Flo pump, but Larry just mentioned that they have a five year warranty, so how ever many roofs you could do in five years ...

There is no way to predict how long the fatboy or the 5850 will last. It depends on many factors...How big the jobs are, what chemical mix your using, if you wash the pumps, what size fitting and hose you have (some could make the pump work harder).

I just had to change out a 5850 on the job last week. It stopped working but I could still hear electricity going through it. I brought it to my shop and unhooked everything. I then put an inlet hose with just water and touched the wires to a battery and the pump worked fine. Moral of the story....if you have a problem with one of these pumps, make sure that its the pump thats actually broken before you replace it. In my case I think it was just a bad connection or a bad toggle switch.

I just have a small 2gpm pump and it stopped pumping but I pressured some water through it and it started again works like a charm. I sold a job low pressure last fall and going out today to do it tried to change his mind to no-pressure but no luck looks like for 1 last time I will be climbing all over a roof ha

I don't let my customers tell me how to do my job I'm the professional it's my reputation on the line. If my customer wants me to do something unprofessional I tell them to get someone else, Amen.
