I have a ton of roofs to do and need to try this pump, your experience so far sounds positive. Am anxious to get it up and running. Yes, I will be adding the filter regulator also.
After a few roofs using 3/8" All-Flo with 5/8 hose, I've tweaked air pressure regulator and in line filter/regulator to get 40 + feet with volume. I have to be careful not to blast too much luv too quickly. I'm very impressed with this set up.
110 psi @ 9 cfm. Almost 160 roofs maybe stalled 10 times, beleived to be a pressure issue as the idle shut off valve on my compressor is going bad. Very easy to rebuiild. 20 minutes to tear down and rebuild. Did not rinse it one single time last year. I only took it apart at the start of the season to check for fluid in the diaphram. 6gpm on 150ft 5/8 hose consistently. All kynar and epdm. And the engineer that designed it claims we can probably get 7 years with daily pure 15%Sh usage. These things are made for true industrial applications. I have seen stainless ones used in Grace chemicals testing facilities in Baltimore, Condea Vista Benzene production, Shell's fuel receiving dock, and Crutis bay energy biohazardous waste incinerator. They are also used to pump hot oil for paving on road service spreaders.
I wonder what these are tested at to determine the strength of the diaphragm. I know the rating is 120 PSI,...but I wonder if they test them up to a higher PSI. Sometimes these type things are tested way over the recommended PSI,...just so the manufactures are comfortable with the advertised rating. Where's Steve from All-Flo, Ha,Ha.
I am running mine at just below 100 PSI and am very happy with this pump. Just wondering if running 120 PSI is pushing towards blown diaphragms,...or are they designed to run 120 continuously. I am not gonna run the pressure up,...but on a very large unwalkable roof,... it would be nice to know the option of running 120 PSI is ok.
By the way, the Kuri-Tec hose is really nice. anyone looking for hose needs to contact Lori and get it. Super price and very nice light, non-kinking hose.

I love that Kuri-tek Jeff!! I wish Steve would come back on. I have boosted mine to 120 when I had those couple stalls and it did fine for a few days at 120, I thought about leaving it there, but like you are saying the max recommended pressure is usually not were we run things we want to last. The cfm was very likely my stall problem as well. With 16 cfm Steve claimed they would run much better. I just looked at his thread again and I bet the oil that got in my pump is what caused it to stall. He talks about that with Chris and me.

Bill, was that the Yamada or All Flo pump?

Im running a 1/2 yamada. Was using 100' 3/4 hose and would add an extra 100' as needed. When I rebuilt my rig I decided to try 5/8.... So I put one 200 foot pc of it on a reel. Talk about a loss of flow and distance. When I get a chance im cutting that hose into two pieces and if that doesnt satisfy me im throwing it in the barn and buying more 3/4. Im not fond of the kuri tech pvc hose compared to the rubber hose either... It is very pretty though.
LOL, imagine how 1/2 inch hose performs ? Real Simple, the bigger the hose diameter, and the shorter it is, the better. We use 5/8 only because a hose reel to hold a lot of 3/4 costs a fortune.
That,'s the all-flo kvm-038 maxpass, slightly different han Lori's but not much. Her's has a different oring that is a rated against sh. So I am in the field now and I just cranked it upto 140psi and sprayed 50 gallons of treatment. It didn't break but it didn't shoot farther either. The cfm is the key to max distance according to the engineer. 16 cfm might give me more distance?? I have a pic of how far it reaches with a 0040, I need to switch to a 0030 and already ordered them. Will post tonight.

Rated agaist sh...please explain. Does this mean it can handle sh or not? If it can handle sh then why is the all-flo kvm-038 maxpass better than what Lori sells? Does the all-flo stall as often as the yanada does? Which Kuri-tek hose are you using Bill? I looked at Lori's website and did not see it listed. Where did you purchase your hose?

Marcus, what kind of roof cleaning system/pump do you use? How do you like it?

He means it has a high resiliency to SH. I just started using the All-Flo,...but so far no stalls,...even when I have the valve turned almost off and just a trickle is coming out. The Yamada I had stalled from day one,...doesn't mean Yamadas are bad,...Chris uses them and it's a company known for quality air diaphragm pumps.
It just means the one I had stalled alot. Could've been my fault,...who knows. Call Lori for the hose, I am currently using it and it is really nice hose,..and her price is incredible.
Chris don't laugh...but I am still using envirospecs roof cleaniing shurflo 12 v pumps. They suffice but I am very interested in other options now that the economy is improving. I hope to see you again in Florida in late July.
Well I run the yamada 1/2 in/out poly with viton seals, going on a second season with the same pump. I did run a 5/8 hose at 150 ft, then went with the 3/4 hose at 200 ft on a titan hose reel. I have a 40 to 50 ft range if needed. My average time for a roof is two 20 min soak downs and dwell, 15 mins to 25 mins between each soak. Spot hit if needed. I prefer air pumps above all else.
Whatever gets the job done is what is important Marcus.
I am planning on being there in Florida as long as things keep on looking better.
Thanks to Lori and her family at Pressure Washer Products and this great bbs, things are looking better and better out there.
