Hey guys last week I saw a lawn spraying company with a gas powered pump mounted on his tank and I got to thinking why we should use an All-Flo air powered pump. What are the advantages/disadvantages to using a particular style pump. Thanks.
95% of all gas powered engines with pumps on them don't last. You can try anything from a John Blue to a Zeta to a Comet pump. All have internal parts that will eventually break down due to the corrosiveness of the sh. Ask me how I know! The Air Flow pump system will not.

Thanks guys I figured there was a logical answer somewhere. What kind of life can I expect out of an All-Flo? If I was to rinse it after each day? I know tough question because you don't know how many roof I do. Would it las for 500 roofs? 750?

Jeff it's my understanding that the All-Flo can be rebuilt. I think I will buy another All-Flo just in case, for back up?
Hey Larry, is that 1/2" hose you're using with the All-Flo? I am probably going to try air again with the All-Flo, and I will want to use the 1/2" Kuri-Tec that Lori is selling. Just wondering how the 1/2" is working out for you?
I was running the Yamada 1/2" a couple years ago and couldn't deal with the stalling issue.
Yes Jeff. I'm using 250ft of 1/2 in on the Pump. I havent had any issues with it. I have heard about the Yamada's stalling and and needing to be reset. Sounds like a pain to me. 1/2 in is a lot easier to deal with especially on big 2 and three story Roof Cleanings.
I'm close to being able to order an All-Flo from Lori. My current hose reel will not hold 200' of 5/8" hose and was figuring I would have to get a new reel. It's good to know the All-Flo will perform with the 1/2" hose. This will allow me to keep my current hose reel.
Will the All-Flo shoot farther with the 1/2" hose than my 5 gpm Delavan using 5/8" hose?
It will depend on what size tips your using. Most all of the Roof Cleanings we do we walk the Roofs so distance is not too much of a concern with us. on a few occasions we have had to use a 0030 or a 0020 tip to shoot the outside edging of Tiles and it does it with no problems. I've tested it with just water and have gotten at least 40-45ft using a 0040 tip. Actually I did it at Lori's while she was right there and she was pretty impressed at how far it was shooting.
I walk most of my roofs as well but there are times I want to shoot a steep one from the gutter line. There were a couple of times when the Delavan would not get all the way to the top and I had to figure out a safe way to get there.
I know there are a couple of better reasons to go with the air pump over the 12 volt than just shooting distance. I can't wait until I get set up with the All-Flo.

It will work with 1/2 inch hose, just not as good as with 5/8.

Im running a 1/2 yamada. Was using 100' 3/4 hose and would add an extra 100' as needed. When I rebuilt my rig I decided to try 5/8.... So I put one 200 foot pc of it on a reel. Talk about a loss of flow and distance. When I get a chance im cutting that hose into two pieces and if that doesnt satisfy me im throwing it in the barn and buying more 3/4. Im not fond of the kuri tech pvc hose compared to the rubber hose either... It is very pretty though.

Thanks Larry, I just ordered the All-Flo and 200' of 1/2" hose. I hope the stalling issue is non-existent. How many PSI are you running? Anyone?
Jeff
Jeff, I have mine set at 100psi. I've got a separate regulator between the compressor and the pump to protect the pump against spiking over 100psi and damaging the diaphragm. It works great and I never have to babysit the pump.
