This is a 3.5 GPM / 45 psi Max Shurflo. I currently have a 3/4" hose for the inlet and 5/8" of 200 feet for the outlet.
I'm thinking if I went down to 150 feet of hose from 200 feet of hose that maybe I'd get an extra 10 feet....that would be terrific. Does anyone know if 50 ft really makes a difference?
Lastly, would going to a bigger 3/4" hose for the outlet get me any extra reach?
Thanks anyone for your help. My main issue is the really steep roof that no one should walk on....I miss the ridge from the ladder by about 10 feet.
PS. I understand that a bigger pump would be the first resolution; however, not ready for that just yet.
50 feet will not give you 10ft of reach, and upgrading to a 3/4" hose, will not either. The only option would be to upgrade pumps. If you come across a roof you arent able to do, or arent comfortable doing, let me know and I'll come help out.
Try using a 0020 or a 0030 tip to reach. You should still be able to get at leat 30-35 ft up that Roof with these tips. I do agree however. ya gonna need a better pump in the future if your gonna be doing lots of Roof Cleaning.

Hi Scott. You're right...I did a quick test and dropped the 200 ft of hose down to 50 ft to see if there was any difference. The result was the same distance as before.
My plan is to do one or two jobs every other weekend because the real estate gig keeps me really busy...there is just something I really like about turning an ugly roof into a thing of beauty.
In the future if I come across a steep roof that I don't feel comfortable with getting on and just can't reach the top from the ladder...IT'S ALL YOURS.
