I use a delavan 5850 and got into the bad habit of not flushing after use towards the end of the season last year. I've noticed the pump does not seem to have as much distance and flow as it once did. Just curious if anyone knows of or uses a solution to clean the internals of their pump. I use a descaler for my hot water skid, so was curious if there's a similair product for our pumps we use.

Water should be all you need to rinse the pump out...From now on, try to rinse it after every use also...I know it seems like a hassle sometimes, but doing so will save you time and money in the long run.
We keep a 15 gallon tote in the truck. Once we arrive, we fill it water, and when we're done, we use it to flush the pump. Simple. I have to disagree with Roy here. I do not feel that 2-3 gallons is sufficient. I personally use 10-15 gallons at least.
I have to agree, run 10 to 15 gallons of water thru it after each use. Once you have the bleach ran out of the hose, then just let it run another 3 to 4 minutes and your good. 5 gpm pump 3 to 4 mins your good once the bleach is out of the hose. You can always run a 3 way poly valve also. Below is a picture of the inside of my box truck, thought I had a higher up looking picture. The yamada is now mounted below in a battery box next to my air compressor and also the compressor and pump is off to the left wall. In front of the yamada pump is a 3 way poly valve and two 150 gl tanks side by side, one fresh water the other mix of love for roof washing. Makes it easy for cleaning out the hose and pump after each use or when I am done at the end of the day.
