Hello all, newbie here. Thanks for a wealth of knowledge not available anywhere else on this planet. FYI here's how I get the ball valve or wand to the top of the ladder:
-Lay ladder on ground in position to be tipped up against building- -Use rope, velcro, bungee, or whatever to fasten wand or ball valve to top rung- -Lay hose along side of ladder all the way to base of ladder- -Stand ladder up into position and wand or ball valve will be at top of ladder.- -Both hands are free to climb ladder.-
Hope this helps. good luck!
HARD HATS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
How do you climb a ladder using both hands at the same time, because either way your still only using one hand to climb.
hi new to this system of washing but not ladders if its set right its easier than you think take a few steps and pull as you go up soon you will be running thats when you make the mistakes one tip on windy days attach a bungee to gutter across ladder to other side gutter if alone ladder falls it gets lonely if you could get them to admit it everyone has froze on aladder or roof youll love your first trip on a lift know where you are on the roof watched a guy roll the tarpaper and himself off the roof
no not afraid of heights ….just wanting to contribute to the board……I think that a pulley system is a great idea..that might be only because I can visualize it…..
This is a fun thread
Ground guy pulls the rope that the pully is on....... wand goes up….weight of wand takes it down

Better off paying the ground guy to water the bushes and grass. Could introduce the idea to craftsman??
There really isn't any need to build or create any device for carrying a simple short ball valve and hose up a ladder. Honestly, if you can't manage getting such a simple apparatus up a ladder,...you have no business even being in this business. This is so elementary for most anyone, that it shouldn't even be discussed. If you're the inventor you say you are, you would see that this idea is not a better mousetrap. Chris should just close this thread because it's making the members look like clowns.
Jeff chill out ….I have a wand, not a ball valve like you…..it’s four foot long and was just trying to see if there was a better way to get it up to the roof besides carrying it….take it easy…I’m new and very excited about this ….
I too have thought about this, althought I am not apprehensive of heights or even 5 mile high heights. My thinking is safety always, I know everyone wants to come home at night after a hard days work. Not have someone call the spouse and say Oops, guess who slipped today.
Oh yeah I did forget to mention you will need about 4.5 miles of hose (Lori help), just replace the wand where the rifle is located. Be sure the trigger is on safe, wouldn't want to spread your Love over the area, but then again you could do a whole neighborhood at one time. Just a thought. I'll keep those wild hairs to myself.

Exactly what Jeff said. Somebody, anybody, please close this thread. I have never seen such an elementary topic be analyzed so deeply. Pick the darn thing up, and carry it up the ladder. If I saw a professional roof cleaner using a dang pulley to lift his wand up the ladder, I would laugh myself silly. Carpenterone had a valid point for those who are afraid of heights or are extra cautious.
This is becoming comparable to the guy a few weeks ago who said he can't stand the smell of SH, but chose roof cleaning as a profession.

Thanks kevin and Jeff.
I wanted to say the same thing. except I'm trying to change my ways and be a nice guy, buts it's not easy being nice. LOL
Just use the 3 point rule. ALWAYS have 3 points of contact with the ladder. 1 hand, 2 feet, 2 hands, 1 foot. As long as you follow the rules for ladder safety you will be o.k.
