hey lori Isn't the clear poly braided a little cheaper? I figure buy new hose every season
The Braided is cheaper Chet, but it will slow you down, and be very hard on your pump. The Kuri tek hose will last you for years and produce high flow for faster and more efficient job completion. You can easily get poly hose or PVC hose at lowes. Read my post above yours were I mention that it kinks alot and reduces flow. So really if you want to replace pumps and hose all the time, and let customers see you trying to unravell kinky thin line then by all means try it out. Personally I do not sell hose so it dosn't matter to me how many you buy over the years. I hope you realize I only tell you guys about this stuff to save you money in the long run and make you look better on the job. We have never encouraged certified roof cleaners to use anything less than 5/8 hose. PS Just buy cheap garden hoses, it is cheap and will work even better than poly braid.

What do you guys think of the clear braided poly compared to Kuri Tec and yellow ag hose?
Lori can you email me some info on this hose and the connectors and anything I'm going to need, Hose reels, etc. to finish this project. I'm prob going to price shop hose reels. All the stuff I'm going to need to finish plumbing out my trailer. Also I heard there is a float valve? It shuts off the water from the garden hose to the tank? Thanks Lori! - Mike
I just tried to find some links, but I had a hard time searching for the appropriate one. The Titan hose reels are in use by every pro on this board with 5+ years experience, for one simple reason, they last the longest. Aluminum body is neccesary if you do not want a big rust ball within one year, and stainless manifolds are the longest lasting on the market today. If you could find an all ceramic or kynar minifold that would be ideal, but no one has found one yet. The hose reel is my least favorite piece of equipment because it is pretty neccesary and guarenteed to fail as well as expensive. The best way I have found to avoid the hose reel is to have your hose cut into 75 ft. sections and just roll them up by hand. Most people have 200-300ft of kuri tek pvc hose. It will last for many years, some have had their hose for over 7 years!! If you go with 300ft of 3/4 you will need the 28inch reel, it is huge. I always recomend buying a spare minifold as it will fail!! The manifold is not cheap and neither is the reel but it can't all be sunshine now can it?? Rinse the thing after every job (run water through it) for the lonsest lasting life span.
Thanks Mike. Truth is I have been on this forum pretty much since it started and a lot of this was shared in the beginning. I also have drafting, design and construction experience so that helps too. This winter I spent a lot of time working around industrial union pipe fitters, chemical testing facilities and waste water treatment plants. Including the FDA, Grace chemical testing facility and Bowie wastewater treatment. I am always willing to share what I have learned and am happy to help, just as others here have helped me. What I am not good at is web development, like Greek to me lol.
