Getting ready to order water tank from Tractor Supply. The bulk head is supposed to be on top, with no holes in bottom of tank, correct? Is it best to get the tank with the legs pre molded into the tank? The one I want is a 125 gal tank, will this be enough or should I order 2? Maybe a 125 gal and a 30/60/90 gal tank?I do have a 16 foot dual axel trailer, so space is not an issue. Thanks for your help. Eric

I have 2 125 gal tanks on my trailer. I use 1 for mix and the other for clean water. Both of mine have the molded legs and are strapped down on each side. That setup works great for me. You don't have to have the extra tank but I use it in case I'm at a house that has well water in case I need extra mix and to clean my pump when I'm done.

That 125 should work great. Yes you want any bulkheads in the top not the bottom. I would use a 55-90 to carry fresh SH. I happen to use 3-55 gallon drums and this works really well for me. We mix each batch on site.

Thanks for the info. I did order 1 125 gal tank. I will probally end up ordering the 2nd tank in the near future. I also placed an order with Lori @ Pressure Washer Services. I went with the All-Flow 3/8 pump, 5/8 Blue Kuri Hose 200 ft, Devlin Pump 5850 to transfer chemical and Rigid Double Barrel air compressor. I am waiting on everything to arrive. Then figue out how to lay everything out. Any sugguestions for the lay out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take your time on the layout. Make sure your valves are threaded and accessible for easy replacement. Band anything you can that goes to soft hose rather than using screw clamps. If you take your time on pipe layout you will have a better looking layout. Post your layout before you glue it up and you may get some suggestions to improve it. Also lay down rubber mats glued down with lots of silicone caulk to save the bed of your truck. Use teflon never cease on bolts with lock washers and teflon seal nuts than caulk over them with silicone. Caulk all crevices were SH gas or liquid will go with silicone, to prolong trailer life. Keep your pump and tanks as far from your air compressor air intake as possible. Always rinse that transfer pump and rinse your trailer after every roof cleaning job or minor SH spills.

Also try and avoid allowing any spilled liquid to hit your axles, axles clamps or brake lines. Try not to drill holes in this area or make sure they are well filled with silicone.

Eric, How long does it take to get the special order tank from Tractor Supply? They have tanks that I like, but they are predrilled and plugged at the bottom bulkhead. Every ag supply store has pretty much the same type tanks, all with the bottom holes. All the old pros here say that they will leak eventually. The 125 I looked at was $210.

I really didn't think that finding an undrilled tank would be so tough!

Tractor Supply is a great Store for cash & carry in  a pinch, but I would sure shop around a little if I had a couple of days. Check Lori's prices, or even Northern Tool.

Hey Bill Booz and everyone else,

I want to ask everyone that is using 55 gal drums to carry their solutions. How are you securing the tanks to your truck or trailer? Straps and ratchets?

I am starting to put my system together in the back of the truck for starters and move to a trailer once I get some steady income. Does anyone have pictures of a truck-based system?

Thanks.
Gary

Be careful with Northern Tool. All the tanks at the store except for the 26 gallon had bottom bulkheads. In the catalog it looks like it doesn't but an employee there matched up the sku's and they were the same as that outside.  Right now I had a 50 gallon from tractor supply and a 26 gallon which will hopefully be replaced by a 40 gallon. (I'm not high volume)

For drum holders I like to build treated 4x4 stands. They don't look the best but they hold up. Will post pics soon.
