Why 2or more pumps?

Can someone please tell me why they use more than one pump?I mean,I'm assuming for the 'reach' correct? If that's the case then why couldn't you just buy a pump that'll put out a higher psi or gpm?I'm just trying to figure this out as I don't really have the means to buy to pumps nor one that puts out more because I know it'll be higher than the others, but I'm just trying to figure out why it is to use 2 or pumps. Is it really neccessary?

I may not be the one to answer this correctly as I am pretty new myself, but I believe a lot of guys have the second pump as a back-up.

We actually use 17 pumps. 1 for regular use and another 16 to make us look important. Just kidding buddy!

Two pumps are used for different reasons. We run a fat boy for the hard-to-reach roofs, and the regular 5gpm Delevan for most of our normal roofs that can be sprayed from the ground. Having 2 pumps gives me a little peace of mind, as there has been three occasions when we ran only one pump, showed up to a job, and the pump was fried.

We run a pump for roof cleaning and another for other wahing apps. One is sh an sh resistant air pump, and one is a poly pump. Also we could use the poly as a backup.

I have two 12V Delavan chemical pumps.

A FATBOY 7gpm pump for roofs and a 5gpm Delavan pump for smaller stuff like decks patios, etc.

Nothing quite like the call I have received when a customer needs a pump overnighted to them because it is fried. I feel terrible and carry your stress, too! I have run to UPS at 6:57 pm in order to get one out! If you can swing it, always get a back-up 12 volt pump or pressure switch or diaphragm repair kit. I hate to see you guys have to pay for overnighted equipment.

We use one for washing, and one for rinsing landscaping.

Actually, one of my pumps is a  polaris booster pump i robbed from my pool. Its great, it moves a lot of water, and can be used for shooting chemicals in a pinch, but is primarily my rinse pump.

If I ever get my delvan running, i'll have three pumps on board.
