Toledo Roof Cleaning LLC Non-Pressure New Rig Pictures

I wanted to post a couple of pics of my new rig.  I went with the Flatbed F350.  A little over kill.  I have so much room on this truck. We only do Roof Cleaning.  One bad thing about this truck is the tool box on the back.  It's hard to see out of.  It's nice though because that's where my pump and battery is mounted.  I also have a 125 tank that's is not currently on the truck.

Nice start to your rig. We also used a 1 ton Chevy flatbed. I'm sure that by the time you finish adding eveything that your extra space will disappear and you will be searching for more room.

Thanks Guys, I had all my stuff mounted on a 12 foot trailer.  My pump and batteries mounted inside the tool box to keep them out of the weather.  I don't have my chemical tank mounted yet.  Other than that I'm done.  Maybe a couple of hose reels down the road.  Can't justify the money yet.  That's what the ground guys for.  Rolling up hose.

Hey Chris,  I'm using a Fatboy set-up.  So far it's been working out fine.  Some day I might try the air pumps.

Great looking set up so far. Good idea about keeping your equipment out of the elements. Good luck with your 2010 season.

Good thing the bulkhead is pointing off the side of the truck ?
Bulkheads will leak, and when it gets on U Joints, watch out ?
Might want to spray the U Joints with lithium grease ?
Protect them, unless you want to be called "Dances With Driveshafts" instead of Dances With Wolfs ?

Yea,  I bought this tank off craigs list for $200.00 bucks and it already had a bulkhead in it.  This tank will be used for water only.  I have a 125 for my love.  I think around my area I am going to rinse some roofs.  just because people want to see instant results because in my area this is a totally new service.

Doug,
With all the time you have spent on here, when are you going to believe that they are instant results? Your customers will be thrilled with the results when you leave. They probably won't even realize that it can look even better after a rain. Here is a picture of a roof that was taken 15 minutes after I started spraying. They look like instant results don't they? Have faith in the process. It works! You don't need to rinse to get results.

Brian

Oh Brian I understand the results, We where able to get a few cleanings in last year.  Some of them still had a brown residue on them.  I feel more comfortable rinsing for now.  I make sure most of the love is off the roof and bagged up and gone.  Can't take any chances on salt washing off later and killing bushes.  Thanks for your suggestions though.  It's just how we like doing it. It doesn't take much longer.

LOL, the HARDEST people to train to be roof cleaners are Pressure Washers blankstare
They just seem unable to grasp, until they SEE it, that a roof will be clean just spraying it, and waiting for God to rinse it blankstare
Tampa is FULL of mean azz new yorkers, who take great delight in not paying, if the roof is not clean!
Never in over 15 years have I not been paid.
It IS a good idea to rinse the bottom 1/4 of the roofs shingles sometimes, to prevent possible yellow line on grass from dripping Love.

But to completely rinse a roof, that is up to you.
IF you insist on rinsing, please wait 1/2 hour at least, so all mold spores die ?
Then rinse one section at a time, and FLOOD all plants until water stands.
Remember, if you rinse, you are unleashing HOT chemical into the eco system, and no longer have evaporation or the wind working for you.
Once chemical evaporates, salt is left, and scattered by the wind, unless immediate rains come ?

It should take at least twice as long to properly rinse a roof as to clean it.
Take 1/2 the roof, and  then take 1/2 of the 1/2 you decide to rinse, and stay in that area until you are done, and water is left standing under that section of roof, then move on to the other 1/2 of the 1/2 of the roof, and repeat.
Take your TIME, or you will say "Holy Toledo" as chit will DIE before your very eyes!
There is NO such thing as overwatering, but underwater the plants and grass, and I will make you a great deal on a Bullet Proof Kevlar Vest.
People FREAK when you kill their chit, trust me.
This post is not aimed at YOU,, it is for our newcomers biggrin

Yes Chris, I am mostly concerned about heavy rains a day or so after I do a big roof.  So I wait at least 45 minutes.  Then I usually just do the bottom 6 foot or so of the roof.  I understand that the roofs look fine but I also think they look better when rinsed.  I guess the rain a day after concerns me more.  I don't think it would be fair to tell a customer that I just charged $500.00 to go spray their flowers if we get a rain. That's my opinion.  Oh well.  Most of the houses in my area have gutters so all the rinse goes in my bags and my ground guy keeps them sucked out.  Thanks for the advice.  Looking forward to 2010.  Phones already started ringing.  Thanks to the knowledge I've gained from you and this forum.
