Have you guys been killing plants?  Most of our solution stays on the roof and evaporates, the rest goes down the gutters in bags.  Do you guys do houses without gutters?  Just wondering why there is the great concern about nuetralizing the shc.  It's suppose to be on the roof not the ground.

yea...here in the deep south where the moss grows thick and fast, most homes either dont have gutters or only around doorways.

Thanks Dwayne,  That makes more sense now.  I couldn't understand why everyone was so concerned.  Up here most all houses have gutters.  All you have to worry about is over spray and if the gutters over flow.

It simply means to put garbage bags over the down spouts so that you catch any run off and that it don't go into the earth.

That would be great if it would work. Water is probably the best neutralizer.

Put the bags inside a 5 gallon bucket, easier to dispose of as the bags burst.

Roy,  Howdo you get the 5 gallon buckets under the down spout.  Most of the houses we do have the downspouts all the way to the ground.  It's hard enough to get the bags on.

good question. perhaps there is a section along the bottom that you can unscrew and remove?

Dihydrogen monoxide is a fantastic product that both lowers PH, is a great diluting agent, and safely dissipates salt build up associated with the high concentration of SH need to remove black shingle stains and prolong their usable life. I use it on a daily basis.

Chuck....if there is a neutralizer out there, you may still be better off just using a ground man. Youde have to apply the neutralizer anyway so why not use something cheap....like water. Water, Water, Water!

you are right water is the best neutalizer and soil is the filter what ever time and money spent on allternatives would require a water mix so would be simplier to just water unless your in a water ban situation that limits your water thinking that was ment by this thread

We're not trying to 'neutralize' chlorine, all that does is change the ph to neutral - what we're trying to do is de-chlorinate, which something Sodium Thiosulfate can achieve - but something I wouldn't want to apply to gardens, nasty Chit.

There is an alternative that doesn't harm vegetation - Vitamin C - it will de-chlorinate bleach solutions, the fallout is that you create hydrochloric acid. But that ain't too bad, since all you have to do is just continue watering. But at least with a Vitamin C - you can put a few pellets into the gutter, so you don't have to bag the downspouts. And you can pre-apply to the shrubbery, and not need a ground guy. Just do your job and rinse a little at the end and you are done.

hey cool to see someone else from mass. on here got to love this newengland weather .but not to keep this thread going to upset the veterans but customers in the past of house wash would ask about washing thier roofs common sense no pressure would use what the vetrans here would call the primative methods spray bottle which i did use the other day on a small section relized pump would be better sacrificed cheap pumps but found this sight and see mistakes and positives of the methods i used. at down spouts i used mixing buckets the ones for small cement mixing would be cool and lazy to put a neutrlizer in and dump out passed i just ran a bunch of water in and dumped never heard of problem i did have a hose connection leak sh on lawn waterered they applied fertilizer and water came back in time no chemist but seeing mixed opinions on thiosulfate they put it in soft drinks before filling to dechlorinate in seconds again im no chemist just had some bad weather reading
