Air Compressor Filtration

As for keeping the air compressor as far away as possible from the LOVE tank, I believe an activated charcoal pre-filter would neutralize the SH.  Is anyone knowledgeable about this?  Should be a similar filter media to the SH masks.
I've not cleaned a roof yet, BUT, I've read so much from you guys that I'm sure my first one will feel like old times! Thanks for all the time and thought everyone puts into this website-

Wayne,

Thanks for your kind words. All here on the RCIA try to learn and give back what they know.

I think most follow the ideal of the principle... "what comes around...goes around"

As for the air compressor having filtered air. Yes , it is possible, has been done and would work if you have the right size of filter media which most mfr.s don't make so you will have to modify your existing air cleaner intake to accommodate a couple of NIOSH canisters for organic vapors or something similar.

I did this some time ago and then later sold the rig.

Now this year, I just act like the leading man in Gone with the Wind, and I have been saying "Frankly, I just don't give a darn" and will replace the pump or tank if it ever fails.

I really do like the quality and dependability of a good brand name newer air compressor over an old hand me down used up or cheap new one so my thinking is torn between both concepts and thoughts.

I am re-thinking my rig in the train of thought that it is better to go thru cheap air compressors annual or every two years then get a high dollar compressor and try to keep it blemish free.

We shall see which concept wins me over?

Then again, "

The sweetness of low price is quickly forgotten, while the Cheapness of poor quality LINGERS long after"

Try it both ways and see what works best for you?

My thoughts concerning the pre-filter was to fabricate a container and use bulk activated charcoal. I'll probably just load the compressor in my truck and run a hose back to the trailer for now.
