OR, you can use a slightly smaller diameter intake hose on your roof cleaning chemical tank to get a slightly weaker mixture ?
50 percent is much too strong, and costs you more money!!!!
Or, use the same size intake hoses to the manifold, and use a pinch valve that goes OVER the chemical line feed hose ?
Wide open, the valve allows a 50/50 mix, but you can simply pinch the hose down to go to a weaker mix for cleaning houses, etc, etc, etc.roof cleaning

Glad to see others picking up on the Apple Vari Flow concept.

My guys are on commission, and dont like me "fooling around" with the roof cleaning trucks anymore.
Unappreciative little bastards they are !

IF I was still out cleaning roofs, a Vari Flow system would be on MY Roof Cleaning Truck.

It would be a good thing to dial down the mix, and clean me a screen room, or a house !

But that  is me, I want the whole enchilada when I go out cleaning.
I take my time with customers, and I talk with them.
I usually get the whole house.

My guys are almost pure roof cleaners, so the system we now have, with dual tanks, suits them just fine.

Always got to remember when you dial down your flow, that there is still considerable strong chemical in the hose ?

i use my pressure washer and down steam for housewas and screenrooms i get about 10to1 with a super sud sucker then i hook up a shurflow to get 5to1 for the really bad ones the line dropes rite in the pure SH tank
it was not shown in the picture but i have two 50gal tanks and one 300gal. one hose to the yamada is perminatly hooked to the 300gal and the other hose will switch between the two 50gal tanks one with pure SH+ammonyx+floramask and the other 50gal will have 30gal of SH+20gal water+ammonyx+flormask for a weaker mix

Cool! Billy is very creative and thinks outside of the box. He modified his electric, yea i said electric reels! He extended the length of the back of his trailer by welding on another axle and few feet. It is amazing. He is aways finding more ways to improve the industry! Great job!

Year Lori, I like Billy too.

He is a man after my own heart, pushing the envelope, trying to improve the roof cleaning art.

thanks guy and you guys will be the first to get the kynar reel swivels im getting ready to make which will soon be followed up by custom reels with floating kynar manifols this will make a complete SH frendly system no more rust or rot im waiting on a suplier for the right material strong enough to replace aluminum and metal for the frame that is cost effective

Wow, lets you and me "get married" Billy, LOL
I have been after Titan to make a hose reel with a schedule 80 PVC Manifold and swivel.

There is NO reson we should have to have a metal manifold manifold in a hose reel.
I used to modify diapraghm pumps with stainless steel springs by having valve spring made out of Hastelloy and Titanium.

The metal on a hose reel is not a huge concern, aluminum lasts ok, the manifold/swivel is the parts seeing the roof cleaning chemical.

The Titan Hose Reels snap where the manifold transitions to the hose barb connection.

The welding rod used on titan reels manifolds in NOT stainless steel !!!!

It craps out far too often.

the problem is in the design all reel use the manifold as the axle so weight and wear is the issue for the reel to last a long time it needs a floating manifols with drum  mounted axles so there is no stress on the manifold i will probably build the first reels out af aluminum im just not getting to far with the plastic companys that why im starting with the swivel maby ill give you one to abuse so we can see how they hold up

Hey, we use aluminum ladders, they last awhie, until the crackheads steal them.
My problems with the Titan reels is the manifold/hose connection, it always leaks/snaps there.
I think a better welding rod will solve this problem, maybe ?

Thick stainless will last, it will pit, but it will last.

Lori might want to order Titan Reels, and use a special welding rod on them ?

They should be TIG Welded with This

Hastelloy W tig welding rod ( the W doesnt stand for "wonder rod" but maybe it Should!

Hastelloy W - this is all I need for welding steels that I am not sure of and a whole bunch of other stuff like... stainless steel of unknown grade to carbon steel? use Hast W

Tool steel welded to Stellite? use Hast W.

get the picture?

When you know it is some type of steel, but you are not completely sure exactly what grade of steel...., Hastelloy W covers a multitude of sins.

CYA note: if it is a critical weld, you need to know what kind of steel you are welding

Hello:
I am Steve and work for All-Flo pumps made in the USA not in Japan but I can answer your question. The black pump moist likely is a carbon filled kynar pump. it is used if you are pumping an explosive material and you need to ground the pump like a solvent of some kind. For roof cleaners the natural kynar pump is fine.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Steve from All-Flo again. We can do a split manifold pump as well. The pump would have 2 suction ports and one discharge port. You will get a 50/50 mix on on your discharge side.

Steve

Steve, what would you think to be the best way to vary the ratio of the suction ports ?
For simplicitys sake, we use chlorine and water.
One tank is all water, one tank all chlorine.
We never need more then a 50/50 mix of chlorine to water.
What do you think about restricting only the chemical feed line with a pinch valve ?
Would the amount of liquid in the tanks effect the final mix, assuming we pull out of the TOP of the tanks ?
I think a dual manifold may make it easy to vary amount of chemical flow at will ?

Chris what about running the chem and water into a y with floe valves on each side going into the suction pump? You could then just slow the flow from the chem side. Hey I just made student WHOOO!!!

Two problems I see with this.
One, if you pull from the top, it is hard to get BOTH feed lines to prime in practice.
What happened to me when I tried this was one line would prime, and once it did, no suction was left to prime the other line!

I tried it with tanks cut out with bulkheads at the bottom of the tank.
Here is what happens.
As one tank has less liquid, it does not "force feed" as much as the fuller tank, because of gravity.
You never know WHAT kind of mix you are getting.

I can actually even see some potential problems with a dual feed manifold.

The whole "trick" IMHO is to get BOTH feed lines primed, at the same time.

That is why I like CLEAR tubing for feed lines.

Wanna see for sure both lines are primed.

i put a check valve on both manifolds on the intake side of my yamada so they are always primed i just have to make sure i dont run one tank dry

A great idea!
I once used regular hose on the intake feeds, and we THOUGHT we were getting a mixture of chem to water, LOL
We turned out to be getting pure chemical !!

Switched to a clear feed tubing, so we could SEE what is going on.

H20, please keep us posted with your experiences with the vari flow system.

If I was still working, this is what I would use.

But my employees dont like it, so what to do ??
