How should I mount my Delavan pump?  I had mine mounted up side down and mix leaked out into the pressure switch.   Needless to say, the pump died.  Is there a better way to mount this?

Well depending on your set up, hopefully your pulling from the top and have a bulkhead fitting on top of your 100 plus gallon roof wash tank. I think the delavan will pull up to 8 to 12 or so depending on if you have the 5850 or the 7800 series fatboy. Look on the thread for delavan pumps and you will see some photos of different setups. Make sure you have 10 gauge wiring to your battery and pump with a switch. Get you some teflon wrap for those fittings also and mount your pump on a flat surface, there is some ideas people used a plastic battery box to pump there delavan pumps in. I never did that personally because of heat reasons. I recently went to a air pump but the fatboy is a beast to use. I hope this helped but there is a lot of info on the delavan just put that in the search and it will lead you to what you are looking for.

I agree with JM. I use the 5850 and mount it flat in a battery box. I take off the cover when I use it and have also drilled holes in the bottom of the box for water drainage and air ventilation. Havnt had a problem yet.

I agree.  I don't think it's necessary to have them mounted upside down (though it makes perfect sense).  However, I don't have mine flat either.  It's slightly tilted with some PC fans I rigged up to survive these hot days we've been having.

How do you have your fan wired in?  I put a fan in my battery box also but it doesn't go on when I turn the pump on.  I have it wired in line with the pump right at the connections coming from my switch.

When I put 12 volts to the fan it works.  It doesn't seen to want to work when its wired in with the pump it doesn't?

Can someone help me find the thread showing the installation with photos of the Delavan 5850? I know in my previous reading of the site I came across the thread but I can't find it now. I've done many different searchs trying to find the thread again without success. I have my 5850 and want to do a proper install. Thanks.

Charles

Wouldn't you know it... the first search after I posted for help finding the delavan setup I found the 5850 setup video from PressureTek.  Ignore me. <g>
