I wanted to specifically thank Dave Westerman for all of his great help and support. I have decided to make roof cleaning my life's work. I am in the process of buying all the neccessary equipment and send out marketing material to get this thing going, so thank you so much!!!
I need some advice on what type of hose to buy? I am buying everything from pressuretek (5800 Delavan pump complete kit) Do the hoses need a special coupler for the spray gun or does it just screw on like a regular garden hose?
I read that 5/8" is the way to go as well, all thoughts are much appreciated, and when I get some valuable experience, I will share what I have learned with this group (whatever it may be worth)
Thank you,
Brad

I think the kit comes with hose. I bought the 5/8 hose setup from Bob. You might want to get another holder for the nozzles with #40 it comes with #30. The gun that comes with the kit I just have as a backup and use a ball valve instead. All the fittings come in this setup.
5/8 to 3/4 quarters either one is great...5/8 with that pump is perfect. Many of us use kuri tek hose. Whenever you need to change that one out do a search for Kuri tek here and you will find a great supplier, as well as the model #'s of the type of hose we use. You can hook up your gun with pipe thread to the valve or garden thread from a nipple on the valve, your choice (use brass nipples , not copper or galvanized). On your spray end go with a stainless steel quick connect for your tips. I would imagine on those pre-made rigs you have to keep an eye on the reel manifold, this is true of all reels we buy too. Stainless seems to last the longest, but they all leak eventually, so maybe buy a spare manifold within the next year for quick changeout?? Also I carry some hose repair pieces as well as well as extra guns and pvc tape. Having an extra gun or two really helps if you break off your pvc gun from an accidental trip to the asphalt from the top of the ladder...
By far the hose reel and manifold are my least favorite piece of equipment, as they are pretty much neccesary, fairly expensive and guarenteed to leak eventually. But it can't all be butternuts now can it, lol???
