Has anyone developed a check list for operating the equipment on your truck and procedures while working on the job?

Not a bad idea, but I have one pressure washing guy besides myself and one roof guy besides my self that work alone. I have trained these two guys  on how to use the equipment in my box truck and utility trailer, the other 4 guys are helpers and ground guys only. They only operate certain things within each unit, I like to keep it that way so nothing gets AFU, and if it does I only have 3 guys to blames, me, Byran, and Mike.

I may do that though, plus some troubleshooting ideas if I am not around.

Another great Idea.    This could be an interesting topic for Tampa at the end of this month.   I think we have all forgotten to do something or check something before we start out for the day.  The last thing I want is having to go back for an item that I forgot.

Great idea! I think we made 3 trips back and forth the other day because of little things we forgot (like adding the SHC). LOL Still learning. Fortunately, it was only about a half a block away.

Re: Equipment Check List

On every job you will find variables.

Its inevitable. Everyone's list will be different.

Yes there are some similarities but you should all develop your own lists.

Make a list specific to your business, roof cleaning ONLY, Roof Cleaning / Pressure Washing / Window Cleaning, etc..

After sitting down with a blank sheet of paper, its time to BRAIN STORM.

Think of everything you need on a generic job .

Then, go over this list with a fine toothed comb checking it over to see if you missed anything

Then check that list AGAIN twice more.

Make sure you add to this CHECK LIST every time you forget something.

Keep it in your truck.

Use a Day Planner.

Use a digital recorder.

ADD, Write it Record it. Then, LEARN FROM IT.

This list will ongoing and on GROWING as you add more services and various pieces of equipment on your trucks/rigs, trailers, etc.

Then transfer it all REGULARLY to a Word Doc. Save it and make sure to burn or store a flash drive back up.

There You go guys.

Hope this helps you.
