Airless Paint Sprayers

I have always wondered if these will work ?
The 2.2 GPM flow rate and the draw rate concerns me ?
Give it a TRY - since you already HAVE it ?

Man, I would think the pumps on these will give into the hypo rather quickly. Seems like a lot of money for an airless to ruin in 10 jobs or so. Seems like it may fog and drift,...but like Chris,...give it a go and see.

Don't forget to rince, just when you think it is clean rince it again.

I'm a painting contractor too and tried using a 1 gpm airless way back when I first started doing roof cleaning and it does not work well at all, but you will ruin it with chlorine.
You might better get the right equipment.

You know - after I put my 2 cents worth in I thought about Chuck Bergman ?
He IS a Painting Contractor who has cleaned roofs as long as I have biggrin

If anyone would know about airless sprayers It is Chuck ?

I would TAKE Chuck Bergmans advice and experience and get the right stuff to clean a roof with !

I ran a mix of hot soapy water through it today to see how the distance would be and it didn't fair to well. The pump system has an inconsistent flow with a thinner solution and I can't get a good distance (from the tip of the gun).

I also spoke with the supplier I bought the rig from and he said the chemicals I will be using will destroy the pump, bearings, seals, basically the whole rig will be shot in no time at all.

Oh well it was worth looking into and I should have my proper roof cleaning rig completed within the next two weeks anyway.

what set up did you decide on chris?

I am going with a trailer mounted set up;

-5850 Delavan Pump
-100 gallon tank (looking at 200 gallon as we speak)
-3/4" hoses, ball valve, etc.
-finalizing tips most likely from Northern

I figure this is the least expensive set up for the time being as I will be spending a lot of $ on advertising and can upgrade as needed. If this year goes really well I would like to graduate to an air diaphram system next year.

Any thoughts or advice?

IMHO 100 gallons too small, everything else OK.
200 gallons much better.

That set up should get you started nicely, from what i understand. Watch that you have a chemical resistant tank, mine is water only and it's starting to get bubbles in the side.

Chris, I agree with you always better to have more then you need when on the job.

Bill, thanks for the heads up on the tank. I am looking to order one from Tank Depot and from what I have read on this board thier tanks are really good.

Theres a good selection of nozzels at Pressure Parts. Com click on nozzels then click on 1/4" threaded then go to page 3 thats were the larger nozzels are, also make sure your trailer can handle the weight no matter what tank you get, watch what the tongue weight limit is, good luck ,oh try NTO for tanks also

Yes stay away from the bottom drians,just a chance of a leak , mine has a bottom drain and i have no problems so far but the veterans here say stay away they will leak someday

WOW.... never thought of cleaning a roof with a paint sprayer, I think I will try painting my house with a pressure washer as long as I use latex paint. lol...no thinning requried..
