I guarantee if I followed any roof cleaner around and took pictures and tried to find wear or something.  I could find it easily.  Especially if the roof was already jacked up from moss.  Its childish and I would never do anything like that.  Moss destroys peoples roofs if they let it go to long.  Can you argue with that?  It would be great if everyone did the proper maintenance but thats just not the case.  We are dealing with people here who dont know or even care most the time.  Its our job to educate the public on proper maintenance techniques.  I tell everyone to treat your roof every year even if its new so you dont ever have that moss problem.  Moss destroys roofs and no matter what method you use there has to be some abrasiveness to remove it.  Im honest always and have done the pressure washing and chemical methods and have found my way of brushing to be the least abbrasive on the roof.  If I find that one of my competitors is taking pictures of work I did and sayin I was causing damage I would make it a point to to take pictures of every job they did and find something wrong in every case.  Cant believe there are people like that.  Why dont you just concentrate on getting jobs, growing your business and doing your own thing.  Lets all be friends there is a lot we can learn from each other.  This website is a great example of that.

BUT -  I did take these pics of a "chlorine cowboy" who came through a neighborhood cleaning roofs alone w/o  protecting the plants.
I have THESE pictures on my roof cleaning blogs to WARN customers about what CAN happen if they hire the wrong company.
But NEVER do we mention any names

 

Oh and to answer your question. I think the point of him posting the pics was to share the damage that can be done from doing it the wrong way. He didn't attack anyone. He just shared something he saw when he went up on the roof.

Why hav'nt you finished your signiture properly yet ??  It seems to me that you are ignoring all the advice on here and just starting arguments.  You and me are about the same age, and I for one realize I have alot to learn in life and business.  Are you doing $1million in sales like some of the pros here???  If so than tell me how to do it, if not than shut up and listen for a change!!!!!

Your guarentee that you  can find damage on any roof cleaners job is evidence of your swollen ego as well as your ignorance.  I am very offended by your statements, almost every post you right is offensive in some way.  Show some respect to your elders as well as the business leaders on this board.  Go find damage on Apples jobs or Daves.  Good luck with that seeing as they don't even walk on the roof!!!  If the roof only has Gloeocapsa Magma, there will deffinetly be no damage.  How dare you slander the entire board with one statement, who do you think you are?  You sir, need a serious additude adjustment!

And:  I don't care about the apology post you are going to write after this one. (That seems to be your method of making it ok)  Those posts seem half hearted as you just start another uproar immediatly. (This thread is a perfect example) It dosn't matter if you didn't mean to SLANDER us, because you did it anyway.  We do not damage roofs, you do!!

The purpose of the pictures is to show home owners what can happen if incorrect cleaning methods are used. Not to bad mouth anyone. Because others are using what is deemed to be the recommended method there is no roof damage so they must take pictures of damage caused by incorrect methods of cleaning.

Here is an improper Roof Cleaning method if there ever was one. Hahaha!

Maybe it is just me but it seems to be a lot of questions be asked lately about roof cleaning methods that are easily found in the search section. If you do not like the methods that are tought here by VETERAN, PROFESSIONAL ROOF CLEANERS, there are plenty of other sites. You will find in many lines of business, low baller fly by nights getting the jobs. In my area the tide has started to turn. Many customers are becoming hesitant to take the lowest bid, for good reasons. Constantly getting calls to fix someone elses mess. Not complaining, it's work for us,just makes me sick customers are getting ripped off!!

Bill your an easy man to like. Your rebuttal is timely and well said. We have a lot of positive vibe with the majority of the members sharing, teaching and learning on a daily basis.  To tactfully express an opinion about something you have firsthand experience, bad experience with or general concerns about is constructive and engaging. To take a close minded stance based on assumptions, lack of experience, assumed facts combine with negativity speaks volumes about mentality of the source who is giving it.... Just my humble opinion. Sleep tight brother!

As well thank you to the rest of the board for being proffesional on most matters and keeping this board positive and informative. I did not want to do this earlier post, but I will not stand for such ridiculuos attacks against my brothers in roof cleaning. We are strong and proud here at the RCIA, and we welcome all people on this Earth with a desire to learn and/or share.
